I got fired from a job after working for two months due to "not being a fit for it". Before this happened I was interviewing for another job and getting ready to quit the previous one. The problem is that I explained to the prospective employer that I wanted to leave my actual job due to location issues (this is partly true) in the first interview (before being fired). After being fired, in the second interview with the same prospective employer I said I quit for the same reason (location issues). Now, I have spoken with the previous employer and they said is company policy to only divulge duration of work and position held. I recently got the offer and would love to have this job. Should I go ahead and take it or just reject it? How could the company find out? Does the background check show this? Please help!

I quit my job and gave my boss a little less than 2 weeks notice. SHe was very upset and wrote a letter to me detailing my faults. So I replied defending myself and my work (in a professional manner). This made her madder and hs threatened to find my new employer and "tell them about me." Should I be worried? I dont think she could find out where I will be working next anyway.

I am applying for a sales assitant. Researched on line and according to them these new titles are acceptable on the resume'. I would appreciate some constructive feed back. Thanks in advance.

Objective

To work with, compliment and assist with a team and or partner to achieve the same sales goals. Forge new employment whereas we compliment one another’s integrity and accountability.

Career Highlights / Qualifications

Two consecutive years I lead two different teams; with no previous sales experience to sales that doubled the previous years. The wholesaler gave recognition to the store in which I lead, an “Elite Dealership Award” and informed us the store is number one in the northern part of the state.

What should I wear when I'm about to hand in a resume to the employer? Should it be a formal dress or can it be casual (t-shirt, baggy pants)?

This isn't an interview, I'm just handing in a resume that's all,

I am about to finish my master's degree in accounting, and I am considering two job offers. One is from a fairly strong corporation as a financial analyst, the other is with a local CPA firm as an auditor. The local CPA firm pays for the CPA Exam prep course (over $2,000 expense) but the corporation does not. I think the potential to earn more and gain more experience and responsibilities faster is better with the CPA firm. I turned down offers from the Big 4 because of the excessive hours associated with those opportunities. I am not in a position where I can travel and work the kind of hours demanded by the Big 4, but I could fit in well with the local CPA firm and the pay is very similar. The potential to move up in the corporation is probably good also, but may take considerably longer in my opinion. I really appreciate your advice and perspective. Thanks.

Would 60K annually be considered a successful salary for a 27 year old in Houston?

I just got offered that that amount today to take an EDI coordinator position, and I'm finally feeling like I'm starting to make it as a success. But I know there are people that make much more.

What amount should I shoot for before I can say I'm a financially successful individual?

Okay, so I have been interviewing for the past month for jobs, nothing really came through. Then, out of desperation & the fact that my savings is dwindling to nothing I took a job that I am waaay over-qualified for. Then, wouldn't you know it, my dream job, making nearly twice the pay called today & offered me the position. The problem is that I am still "training" at this current job & won't start my "real" job until 08/13/07. I need the money from the job that I am over-qualified for in the interim. Should I give notice, or just leave?

Today, I went for a stupid interview for an admin post. I have indicated in my resume all my working experiences. However, the interview kept asking me if I have done [abc] or [efg] or [opq] before, all of which I have not done before.

I told him whatever exp I have is all in my resume and he told me to "wait for a decision". Immediately, I know that the game is over.

I mean, what is this? Whether I fit their bill or not is so obvious from my resume. What is the purpose of a resume if the interviewer don't even look at them? I feel that it is a waste of my time asking me to go all the way down just to tell me that I do not fit their requirements. So frustrating....

I just feel that they are so unprofesional. Would you be mad if you were in my shoes?

I make great money but don't have enough to do. I get tired and become so bored that I play around on the internet. I use to work from home so being in the office makes me feel like a trapped animal. I would rather run laps in the office then sit here with NOTHING to do. Open for suggestions.

I am a Singaporean and in this city state getting old is a sin. No employing company would want to take you in because been old equates to higher hidden cost to maintain you and expected lower productivity unless you are a aparking star.

how do you clarify that. For example, the bank I worked for started out as one name, merged with another bank and changed names then was bought by a third bank and changed names again. Would I list the current bank name and put the date I started at the first bank or list each bank with the dates I worked for each bank?

I recently interviewed an extremely qualified job candidate. Unfortunately, that person did not get the job. However, a friend of mine at another company is looking for qualified candidates. He asked me to forward any resumes of people who I would recommend. Is it wrong (unethical, illegal, subject to lawsuit, etc) to forward the resume without that person's consent or knowledge?
