I work at a hair salon and my boss/the owner thinks I love my job and that I'm happy because I never complain and I'm always smiling (because I'm that kind of person). But I've been there for 7 weeks and I really don't like the job mainly because we hardly have any customers. It's more like an awkward social gathering every single shift, because we have no customers and we end up having to make "small talk" with each other all day long. It's nothing like I expected it to be and I have a real hard time getting up in the morning to go to work cause it's sooooooo boring. We literally have like only 2-3 customers a day. So I was thinking of approaching my boss and telling her that I'm not too happy with the position so that when I do quit in a few weeks or so, it wont be a total shocker. But me telling her that I hate the job will be shocking to her, so how can I tell her?

I have been an addiction counselor for a few years. I want to move into business, so I can make more money. I deal with people and paperwork all the time, so I figure Human Resources could be a good fit. Is it boring? Whats it like ?

Cont. I was told by the interviewer there was 14 positions needed to fill. I'm asking since I just saw the re-posting does that mean I didn't get it or of those that were interview, there was not enough to fill the 14 position requirement. It's really bugging me and I wanted this job. I was going to give them 14 days before I send a follow up letter but now I'm not sure. If I didn't get it, shouldn't I received something in the mail by now. I would think after 3 interviews and the last one was the final (phone). Is there a way to see if a background check has been done on you. Someone please let me know, thanks.

I'm looking at musical theatre or a career in publishing (preferably editorial or in production), but I'm not sure which will be more stable. I was also wondering if there are actually jobs outside of New York to be had in publishing. Thanks in advance.

Most of the women at my work place get a flexible schedule. One of them has another job and another goes to school, but other than that all the women get what they wnat. I put in my request and they told me no. I told them that I go to school and that because of that I have a complicated schedule, and they still said no.

How long should I wait to contact him again. I e-mailed him monday and his E-mail sent me a message saying he will be out of the office until today. I really want this job....should I just go ahead and fax my resume....or is it ok to send it to him as an attachment in another e-mail

There is an entry-level job I am going to apply to, and I'm not sure who I should send it to. I know the name of the man - and have his e-mail - who would do the hiring for my particular job. However, on the company website, they provide a specific "career" e-mail, and mention that resumes, etc. should be sent to this address.

My second problem. If I send my resume and cover letter to this "career" e-mail address, should I change my cover letter to NOT be addressed to this guy (it is addressed to him now)? Or should I just leave it as it is?

i am a practicing family doctor in the US, making about $150,000 each year, working 72 hours over 2 weeks.

how does the salary rank to median in the US, pls state your opinion about this salary and what state you are in

you go for a job interview and the guy says you have the job, but give me 2 or 3 days to call you back as he has to wait for the background check to come back. what does this mean?

I have been working in the same office for 4 years and am a big part of what goes on here. People depend on me and I know how to do a lot of things that others don't.

I was offered an awesome job, it's almost too good to be true.

I want to know how can I quit here. I love the people and know that this is going to be bad for them. How do I go about quitting?

Oh, and in the business I'm in, when you give your two week's notice, they ask you to leave immediately because the information is confidential and they don't want people messing with anything.

Thanks in advance!!

I had a change of mind after i graduated from college, which was recent. I really need input or help deciding my future. I want to make the best choices with my career and get off to a good start. Well. I was focused just on the money aspect of my degree instead of analyzing to much into what I was specifically going to do with my degree. I graduated and I don't know what I want and I am being to picky. I always loved science and I don't know why I didn't major in science or biology. I need to go back and get educated. But anyways can someone help me find ways I can do a job with Science particularly earth science, enviromental science, or astronomy. Pretty much anything with science Or entry level IT options. Thank you. I really need help , this is making my head hurt so bad !

I'm 20, have no college education, and live in Oregon. Right now I'm working as a Realtor; I'm working under another broker who was a top producer for 15+ years with re/max. I know that he is using me to do a lot of his BS work, and I'm really not making a lot of money.. Yesterday I went and talked with a representative for Comcast, and they are hiring for cable technicians. The money initially would be at least twice as good, & the job is more 'mindless.' but not as good in the LONG run... Any advice as to what I should do?

He told me I seemed to be qualified. They checked my references (spoke 2 one for 20 minutes) and completed my background check. The file on me is complete. I ve been waitin 4 over a week for an answer (lady was off due to holiday) then next week boss was out all week. Everytime I called or emailed I got a response with an update. Is there a good chance an offer is coming. what is ur take on the proceding thus far. thanks in advance

employer i now work for p/t? The offer is turning out to be a little fishy since they're stalling on the offer letter. I have something else in the wings that's a bit more conservative and kosher. I've accepted the offer verbally but I haven't signed anything. Now I'm starting to change my mind and I want to back out of the offer. I've worked with this person before and I should probably call them but I'd prefer email. What' s the best way to approach this and what are some good reasons for backing out. I'd lke to retain the relationship if at all possible, but I can't see right now how that's possible. Any suggesstions?

I work for this company now p/t and the job offer is f/t and more responsibility but I've recently gotten word from the inside they give dirty a new name and I don't think I want to chance it. Plus the stuff they're pulling right now before we even begin gives me pause.

Obviously, I want to make decent money... doesn't everyone? I'm not looking to be filthy rich; just comfortable. We were pretty poor growing up and I want to give my (future) children better opportunities. I'm going into my second year of college. I'm fluent in Spanish and have yet to delare a major. I'd like ideas possible career choices. I know obviously I could teach... become a translator etc. If you've got more specific ideas I'd love to hear them. Lists or websites will also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I hate my job. I went into this job under the advice of the HR manager. She recommended I get a job in customer service call center to move up in my company. I would have to stay in this job for a year and its been 3 months and I am just fed up. I work in the web support area which means I help people navigate the site and use online tools. I work for a health insurance company. The site goes down daily and I get yelled at and the pay for this is rediculous!! I can't even enjoy my weekends without thinking of this job or enjoy my evenings when I get off everyday!! I want to quit so badly, but need the income for paying my rent and bills..I have applied so many places and no luck. It s-cks you go to college and can't even get a job!! I feel trapped. I get depressed when I think of going to that job every morning. The thought of quitting is comforting to me. I was thinking of quitting and taking a small loan until I found another job to support me for the time..what do you think?
