I have this job because it's the only one I can get-most jobs require 16 years old and I'm not turning 16 until September. I reeeaally don't like it (I'm doing try-out hours right now), but my mom says I should do it just to earn some dough for the summer. But, my summer is pretty miserable right now!! I know I'm definitely gonna quit this job once I turn 16, which the boss won't like. What should I do?!

The application you have submitted has been accepted for the following position: Sr. Support Services. Since the position does not require examination, you are eligible to be placed on the register for the position indicated on your application. You will remain on the register for one year........

Do you think this means, I didn't make the cut this time but am added to the list for consideration in the future or that I may be getting a call for an interview?

When I graduated from IT some years back, I didn't get a job in IT. The market was bad. I ended doing other jobs. Lately, I was also unemployed due to the economic conditions.

However, in the meantime, I have also taken short courses to keep myself up to date such as MCSA or MCSE or CCNA or Oracle.

Do you think I can now go back to the IT field after 3 to 4 years? What do you think my chances are?

2 year experience would be enough in a single company? What if experience crosses 5 years. Is it time to change?

I'm a nursing student and I work at a hospital close to my home. Lately I've been having trouble getting into work on time (or sometimes at all). My boss just called me to go into her office and requested that I bring a union rep with me. I think they're going to fire me..

Do I qualify for unemployment? I've been working there part time for 2.5 years. at the moment I'm working as a student extern at another hospital for the summer so it's a temporary position. Would this interfere with collecting? what about school? I go to school part time (but full time hours) and won't be able to look for another job.. would this affect my ability to collect?
i'm so scared because I can't afford to not have a job and I can't afford to work during school....
btw - I live and work in new jersey.

My boss is involved in a pyramid scheme (similar to Amway). He is really pushing for me to get involved because I have a lot of friends. He hopes I can get them in this thing too. Trouble is, he is a crappy boss on my full-time job, so I really don't want any more dealings with him. I am also in college, work full-time, two kids, two part-time jobs, so no time for anything else as it is. How do I tell boss of the year to back off? Trouble is, he will assign me crappy projects until one of my coworkers pisses him off. I like my job and the way it's going, hopefully he won't crap on that for me. We work in a government agency, so HR will probably be no help either.

I have been in admin for 5 years. I hate it. It is the only thing I know, though. I hate being at a desk all day. I go bonkers sitting still. I cant even sit through a movie. The only other skill I have is writing which doesn't pay well until you are established which could take years. I do not have a college degree but am desperate to get out of admin. I am between jobs now and cringe at the thought of going back and sitting at a desk for 8 hours. No offense to those who love office work. I wish I could be more like that but I'm not. What other careers could I pursue that are not office but pay decent?

i'm working in a real estate company as a receptionist & i was recently offered a job in a different company offering a base salary that is 20% higher than my current rate. i was already decided on resigning but my boss told me that he'll be nedding a Marketing Coordinator soon & i'm being considered (i'm a Marketing Management degree holder). that opportunity was the main reason i stayed in the company. that happened barely 2 weeks ago. today i found out that the company recently hired a Mktg Coordinator and i'm stuck as a receptionist! now i feel stupid! what am i going to do????

I was not looking for another job, but I was recently approached by a former colleague and was offered a better paying job. I was only hired at my current job a month ago, although I've been with the company a total of 9 years (I quit in 2004 and was rehired this past June). What do I do?

I think in terms of etiquette, I should turn the job offer down, but financially, I could really use that extra money.

is getting a degree really that important?

I have heard from a real story...
This person Mr A, who have worked in the industry for a no. of years and is very experienced but he only has a diploma and the upper management position is never opened to him for years...

There comes this fresh graduate with honours and was immediately offered a upper management position...

Why is that so? I thought experience is something that is very important which will determine one's career advancement? Not not the piece of paper?

But did the employers consider the fact that the honours graduate may be academic smart but may not be worldly-wise.enough for their company?
