I'm in CT and am going to be laid off. Upon separation, I will receive a lump sum for accrued vacation time and all my contributions to the retirement fund. Will they deduct this from my benefits?

probably. Many states will consider vacation pay as wages. Retirement might be different.

No because these are things already earned in the past. Unemployment starts 1 week after discharge. ( the one week waiting period)
