Mow yards, help older men and women do odds and ends around the house, organize rooms or other items, walk dogs, feed pets while neighbors are gone, etc. Just market yourself make it known that you are available for whatever and that you are 12. I suggest working for people that you know or someone you know is acquainted with for safety reasons. If you don't mind babysitting perhaps you could take the CPR class and all that might help out a little. Also do odd jobs for your parents. They are usually the best source for cash. Wash dishes, laundry, mow the yard, rake, fold clothes, etc. Just negotiate some prices beforehand that you and them agree with and then go to town... also ask people to donate to the cause even if they do not have work for you. It can't hurt anything. Worst case scenario they tell you no... you are no worse off!

You can do several things. I am sure many people will suggest a paper route. That is honest work, but it is only one thing you can do. It depends on how much you really want to earn the money and how fast.
You can offer to walk neighbor’s dogs.
You can mow yards.
If your town has paid recycling, collect cans, paper, and whatever else they recycle to turn in for cash. It may only be a little at a time, but it only takes 100 pennies to make a dollar. Little known fact: People drop enough pennies that they never pick up in a lifetime to equal over $20.
Pet sitting is also a good way to make money. Especially now that it is the height of vacation season.
Offer to run errands for people if there are stores with in biking distance.
Make deals with your parents or siblings to do unpleasant chores for cash. For instance, if your sister has to clean out the cat box, offer to do it for her for $2.
Make flyers, with your parents permission, and distribute them to the neighbors that you know well. Let them know that you are willing to do chores in exchange for money. Tell them what you are saving to try to earn. Many adults will admire you for working hard to earn the money for yourself. They may help you so that you can earn that money. They may have things that they have been neglecting that you can do. Things like straightening the garage, cleaning out the shed, etc may need to be done. If you know that these things need to be done, you could mention it casually when you give them the flyer. Try to avoid simply leaving it in their mailbox or door. It might get overlook as junk mail. You will look more mature if you speak to them yourself. The flyer can serve as a reminder even if they say no. If you choose this option, be sure to be on time and do a good job. The neighbors will talk to each other. A sloppy job can cost you to lose the rest.
Try to avoid doing things like having a lemonade stand or selling food products. You will have to consider how much money you have to spend on the ingredients. Do not forget things like cups, bags, napkins, etc. If you do choose to sell food products, remember that it will take up a good portion of your day. So, whether or not you have a good day of sales, you will have spent most of the day doing that. If you choose something else, you could do several things through out the day. You could wake up early and deliver papers, although some places have and evening paper. Some cities even let you just deliver the Sunday paper. Then you would have time to go back home and eat breakfast. Then you would have the whole day to do all kinds of moneymaking opportunities.
I think it is impressive that you are trying to earn the money instead of whining about how you can get your parents to buy it for you. That already shows that you have initiative. Best of luck and I hope you reach your goal.
