I have a coworker that is so lazy and is bringing my department down. He is not productive and is extremely unprofessional. I have tried many things to motivate him to no avail. He's pretty much just getting a paycheck for doing nothing so he'll never quit on his own. Any ideas on how I can get him fired without implicating myself?

My husband is about to become an OTR and we know he will be gone most of the time (we are not worried about this, we have a very strong marriage) we are however in the dark about how to save money while he is on the road....for example what all should we buy him to have in the truck as far as refrigeration, cooking appliances, food (he is leaning towards healthier foods) any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This past week (8/29 to be exact) I sent in my resume with cover letter thru email via careerbuilder.com. But, after taking a good look at my resume and cover letter (after I sent it), it didn't seem "good enough". I've spent the last few days revising and want to send both in again.

Is it appropriate to re-send my resume and cover letter (via regular mail) to the same company? I'm not even sure if they got my resume the first time and they don't have a contact number for me to check.

How do I explain myself for re-sending my updated resume?

Help please!! This is a great job and I'd at least like an interview. Closing deadline is 9/15.

I graduated a year ago with a degree in biology (b.s.). I have been trying to find a job ever since. I live in cleveland, oh and the problem I keep running into is that every job is a sales job. I AM NOT A SALESPERSON!!! I am very smart and a job that does not utilize this will be short lived. I need something that allows me to make decisions and does not involve selling. Going back to school is not an option as I need money and WILL NOT move home to live with my parents. So unless it is something that allows me to go to school part time while working full time, it is not an option. I am very open minded, all I really need is decent pay, bennefits, and the ability to think for myself so I dont get bored and quit.

I worked part time at a horrible restaurant for 8 years. It was a College and High School job.

I have better experience working at a Credit Union as a Customer Service Rep. Unfortunately that contract was only 4 months and the job was replaced do to technology and downsizng.

I have 5 years of working at various places but never any for so long because I've been in school and doing contracts.

I learned no important skills at the this restaurant job, unlike my credit union job and many other of the short term jobs I've had over the years.

My question is, do I still have to put that I worked at a restaurant PART TIME for 8 years in the SAME POSITION just to show I have "staying power"?

And do I have to give up putting the 4 month contract that I have with the Credit Union because the time there was too shor

I was given a job offer, pending 2 reference checks. They called my current job and asked for the manager (whose name I had listed but who was not there). A coworker (who is not management) who answered the call volunteered to give the reference, and even identified himself as qualified to do so. This person freely discussed me, and subsequently, the job offer fell through. The second reference was not even called.

I am quite upset and would like to know what recourse I have against this coworker or the company itself.

Its like this. When I first started working during the Christmas rush, they gave me all the hours I wanted to work, because basically I was working as a temp. Then they wanted to keep me and gave me a 60 day probation. I passed it and they hired me. But recently, This job haven't been giving me hours to work. For one, I am on child support, so that makes me short on my payments. And two, I cant make enough money for myself if I am working 4-5 hours a week. Is there something that I can do, besides talking to the store manager? Because all I get is the same ol answer.....When I have hours to give you, I will give it to you. It's bad enough I have to remind him to punch me in and out since our store is being remodeled. Theres got to be someone that I can talk to. I am in chicago, so if anyone has some advice from within that area, it will help me plenty. One of my friends told me to call labor laws on them. What do you think about this idea, and if so, how to go about it?

Today marks the 10th Week that I have covered for an open position here at my company - along with my regular position & duties. The pay rate for that position is $52,000.00 per year or $1,000.00 a week. To date I have saved our Company $10,000.00 or 10 weeks of salary that has NOT been paid out. I notified my boss in the beginning that if covering the position lasted longer than 2 weeks I wanted a bonus of somekind. But now it has been 10 weeks and we finally are seeing some qualified candidates for the job. My boss is very cheap I will MAD if he offers me a check for $500.00 or something. The extra work has really been weighing down on me I believe I deserve more. What SHOULD I be receiving? Is there a standard? Note: Covering empty positions is NOT part of my job description.

I feel like teenagers have been understimated, people globalize when coming to situations involving teens, I know that i not only speak for myself but i speak for a lot of people my age, who have the maturity of someone older, i feel like this is racism, teenager like me have talent and are capable of doing things that would fit into a corporate job, so, why is this happening, why we have to take fast food jobs or that kind of jobs?
