I just recently got a new phone number and I registered with the donotcall.gov list three days ago. They say it takes 31 days for sales calls to stop and I can't take it. I'm getting like 20 a day & I don't answer them so I don't know why I'm complaining but they're SO obnoxious & these people just KEEP CALLING BACK. So my question is: does anyone know of a FASTER [than 31 days] plan to get these people to leave me alone?

I've been doing inside sales for an electronics store for 6 months now and I like it. I'm definately not the greatest sales person but I think I am above average and I give excellent customer service on top of that. Anyways I just wanted to ask if 6 months is enough experience to get a real sales job that will give me some real money? Cars? Loan Officer? What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any insight on what it takes to be a Sales Manager for a radio station? I have an offer on the table and I'm stuck becaused this would be the first job I have taken that is paid 100% commission. This seems like a huge risk for me. But they have shown me that the growth and market conditions are stable enough were I will be making much more than what I earn now. I have always believed that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Anyone have any thoughts on this one???

Went to an interview about 5 years ago. They had me come to their "District Office" in an older strip center. The secretary had me go back to talk to the "recruiting manager". His office was rather large, but the only furniture was a metal cabinet, two chairs and his desk, which looked older than he was. The guy then gave me a very rapid speech about making money promoting national products. He kept saying, how does that sound?" over and over again throughout his speech. I needed a job, so I agreed to go to their south office the next day. I got there and they assigned me to a "marketing manager." The guy then took me across town to an office park. He said we were going to be "marketing our promotions" to folks. What it all was, we were going door-to-door selling cheap crap. $5 fountains, the motors were louder than the water. $20 picnic sets that did not include plates. They said they marketed for Fortune 500 companies like disney, samsonite and Time-Warner. It was bull.

Earlier today I had a customer yelled, cussed, and insulted at me beyond imagination over the phone. I work at a college bookstore and she was getting mad at me at why we mark books as required when they aren't really so. I wanted to tell her to shut the **** up since the professor is the one that tells us to list the books and materials as so, and some times professors exaggerate on the materials that they want or they just want to make a profit since they were the one that wrote those textbooks. I was honestly trying to best explain to her about the procedures that take place in a college bookstore. I honestly do not get paid enough to deal with people like her. I have her phone number and I want to yell at her back while I'm not on the clock, what are my rights as an employee if I do so? What can she complain to the manager about? The fact that a normal citizen is going ape on her?

My little brother is interested in becoming a Mormon missionary but he is not sure of the commission structure. He figures that you would have to deal with a lot of rejection since most people are already members of a church. He has been practicing every day in the mirror though. If you get a base salary plus commission he might want to consider this. I can't find anything on the Internet about this for him though. Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Do you need a degree or special training to get into pharmaceutical sales? Or will sales experience and a winning personality qualify you?

I am currently not using this degree at all being in the construction industry. Is there a job out there where I can apply my degree without being in sales? I love being creative hence the marketing degree. Thank you for all answers given.

My brother just started a job with a car dealership, & he has to pay $250, just to get his job application processed. I thought that you must NEVER pay for applying for a job.

I now live in the USA (originally from Yorkshire)...it is a requirement to have a 4 year degree to get into pharmaceutical sales. Just curious about the UK requirements. Back in 1983 when I left school, only a small percentage of people went onto University.

I just graduated college and I just got my first post-college job. It is a negotiations and sales role for a not-for-profit healthcare company.

I plan on getting my MBA at night, and I was just wondering how one can look for another job in the future while they are working? I have been in those tough interviews that have panels of people and require you to fly-out to them, go to multiple interviews, etc. How can a full-timer, who is primarily in an office setting, go through the intense hoops?

Okay I'm applying online for some jobs, CVS and STOP &SHOP ( just for summer employment and some extra cash). Im getting really scared b/c they keep asking for permission to conduct drug tests and background checks. I have to select job positions from a list with vague descriptions. Is all this really safe, and how can I know I'm not gonna get skrewed over with my personal info out to them? I have no problem being flexible, as long as they are willing to be reasonable. I'm really hoping they dont give me some n@$ty $h!t jobs. Yes I am over 18. No drugs or criminal background, Squeaky clean. I swear...not in the bad way,well.... oh, whatever!

How did you deal with this!? Help I'm nervous.
HELP!
