My employer has sent around cards asking for a contact "in case of emergerncy" and medical information such as: List any allergies or illnesses, history of heart disease, etc., blood type and drugs being presently taken. Do I have a right to refuse to answer? I'm a secretary (meaning the only harm I can do to anyone in my job capacity is possibly a paper cut!).

I was fired on May 17, 2009. The reason for this was as follows: A note in my handwritting was found beside a computer at the store where I worked. Another employee found it on my day off. It was an address to an adult website and my personal ID number. Must have fallen out of my pocket. The employee who found it proceeded to open it and spread the contents to the rest of the employees. Made me a laughing stock and I got fired for being on an unauthorized website. The thing is, I never opened the site.I opened my e-mail after the store was closed, saw the site and wrote it down to look at it later at home.It was my day off and I wasn't even able to defend myself. I worked for this company for 25 yrs.I was the only HR person they had. There is no such rule (unauthorized websites) written and we all had permission to view our e-mail.I am a widow of 4 yrs, a mountain of bills and no savings. I am now losing everything!I am 54 with no job and no education Legal case or not? State of MO.

I am thinking about chosing law as my profession. I have looked up many things and can not find anything that tells me the types of lawyers and what exactly they do. I think that i would either like to be some kind of prosecuter or a lawyer that specialized in home cases. Such as abused children and child wellfare. If someone could give me a link to something that could help me or discribe exactly what i would be doing with the types that i have mentioned above. Thank you.

I simply told him that his company would fo out of business due to his management style, I also stated that he was an aggresive manager. I also told him that he harassed other employees that worked for him previously.

I did not curse, but I did let him know what a lousy manager he was for sure.

I work in Washington State and my employer has a mandatory lunch rule where if you work an 8 hour shift you have to take at least a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Well I didn't take a lunch for two weeks straight and now they have deducted 30 minutes from each day off my pay. Is that right?

DID all these men and women in blue suits learn everything in their mothers WOMB before popping out? you clever, intelligent KNOW everything sons of bitches, racist, racist racist employers - you will all die and go to hell and have maggots eat you out when you lie 6feet under! may the devil bring upon you so much evil on you.

I want to be a police officer. The only thing I'm concerned about is my employment history and how much I've moved around in the past, though. It might come off as unreliable, I have moved back and forth 4 times between here and the southwest, and I've had a couple jobs where I didn't give any notice and just quit. I want to leave these details out of an application. Do they check to see where you've had a driver's license and where you've filed a W4?

Last year i was unfairly dismissed from my job, i put a claim in and won, i was meant to be awarded a good lump sum of money but the firm went bust not long after i was dismissed and that they had no money to pay me. I am far from happy, is there nothing else i can do to get the money that is meant to be awarded to me? I feel very hard done by and im determined to get at least something.

If anyone has any good advice on what i can do then i would be very greatful.

Hi all,
I work for a multi-national company and am currently on a 3 month 'career break' while I complete my university studies. I stopped work on the 16th of April and was paid up until then. To my surprise the following month on pay day I was again paid my full-monthly wage but I hadn't worked a single day! I am due back at work in July and was wondering what would be best? Should I tell them now or wait till I go back to work and maybe earn some interest on it? Any suggestions or legal rights would be great! :) Have a good day!

He had no contract as it is a delivery position, but he was there for three months, and when he asked his boss, he totally went off on one and started ranting and raving about conditions agreed at start (which he has a short memory about, as agreement was 5 day week, but BF is working 6 days now, and days are getting longer each week).
