This happened in California. The boss had been sending man to drive boss' wife on personal errands on company time. Man said no to boss several times. Boss keeps asking, and wife keeps contacting man, calls on cell phone, showing up at man's home. Harassment is of sexual nature. Man contacts corp. about it after a few weeks. That same day, boss says man is "released" and position is eliminated. It is also in the 90 probationary period, both boss and man were just hired about a month ago. Does the man have cause for wrongful termination? What should be done?

I work with 5 other colleagues in the same job, we all work alone but doing the same job at different times. We work in shifts everyone for 28 hours. Now is my boss calling my colleagues and asking questions about me, how they think I am doing my work. Probably some of them have giving him negative things about me because i need to come and see him about some issues. I dont know about what. But I never work with my colleages we just meet eachother when we change shifts so only our client could make complaints about my work if there are any. Complaints from my colleagues couldnt be about work it only can be their opinion about the 5 minutes they see me. So it would be hear say. Isnt it? I am sure that there are no complaints from clients so do I have to be afraid of my job? Just because some colleagues doesnt like me, he cant judge me for that? Can he?

Can a business post a job listing for something that isnt really what the job description is? and when you get there they refuse to give details of pay/benefits and actual job description? then make you go on a false interview that is really making you do charity work then not pay you for the time you were there? Then not allow you to use a cell phone to contact anyone letting them know where you are? Oh and did i mention not giving you a lunch break?

I recently accepted a job offer though a staffing agency...but the recruiter said I had to come by to fill out paperwork & that they would be running a background check. 12 years ago I was working at a convenience store & some money vanished. I've lived in the same county all this time, and I recently found out there is a pending felony charge for embezzlement. I've had several traffic tickets since, and this never came up. However, it is showing up on my background check. Is there a snowball's chance in hell I'll get hired? What would I do to get it resolved? A lawyer told me to ignore it, but I guess I can't. At the time, I took a polygraph and everything (I didn't take the money), so it's a mystery why that is out there and I didn't know until recently.

For a while now I am being accused of things that are completely untrue due to rumours being spread around my company. For example, a while back a family member was rather ill and I needed to take time off to take care of them. I took this time as holiday that i was entitled too . I was then confronted by my boss saying I had lied about the family member to get time off work. Considering I was entitled to the time off I had no reason to lie, so why wld I? This has been going on for so long that i handed in my 1 mnths notice last week. today i got sent home from work b/c a collegue asked me if i had heard a rumour about her being spread and i said yes and also said i couldnt be sure of the source. she then confronted this person and my boss got involved. This collegue then claimed I told her to confront the other person, I did not!!! My boss told me to go immediately and that on monday i wld be told as to whether i still had a job!! I beleive im being harrassed? what should i do?

I'm about to go into full time work for the first time, as i am leaving college, and i know nothing about employment law and contracts. I really want a new car, which i will be able to afford with the pay from my new job as a trainee accountant. The thing is, i don't want to take out the loan if I don't have security that I won't just get fired for no reason. What rights do i have? Is it reasonable for me to request that I be given a longer period of notice than the law requires? Is it likely that they'll let me put that into the contract? and does this override the fact that by law they only have to give me 24 hours notice within the first 4 weeks? Please help, i'm confused

Thanks for sensible answers

I work 24 hours a week and they asked me to come in on my day off for an hour. It's quite annoying b/c I have to go to the babysitters, drive out to work, work the hour, then drive back to the babysitters...I used up basically 2 hours of time. I heard there's a law (CT) that if you come into work for one hour they have to at least pay you for 3, is this true?

THEY R NOT SAYING THEY WON'T PAY ME. BUT EVERY WEEK I'M TOLD I'LL GET IT NEXT WEEK then next week and so on. I've already been waiting 5 weeks! I exhausted my savings and I'm falling behind on bills. They owe $2000! Today I called to see if they would pay me tomorrow and they gave me the same line, NEXT FRIDAY. I can't keep waiting for them to cut me a check. My Human Resource Mananger has been trying to help me out, but out of his own mouth he told me he's never in his life seen an employee go through so much hassel to get paid. PLEASE HELP ME.

As I understand, most states require you to graduate law school to qualify to take the bar. Must you go to law school to practice patent law? How does one get started in the field? Thanks in advance for any info.

One job my daughter is interested in is becoming a lawyer and rather than working at an ice cream parlour we were wanting to see if anyone knew if law offices ever hired teens for summer employment. Honestly I don't care where she works, but we just wanted to check out all the options.

Thank you!

I had to sign a 'confidentiality' form when I was working there, what gives her the right to send my personal details to a company, even if she does think it will help me to get a job.
I think she should have asked for my consent first.
I have tried to discuss it with her, but she is continually in meetings, won't answer her phone or voicemail. She agrreed to see me yesterday, I knew I was going to be 10-15mins late (my fault) so I txt her, she got the text, and in the end I was only 10 minslate, however when I arrived at the office, I was told that she 'was in a meeting'. I spoke to someone else, but I really want her to speak to and acknowledge what she has done, as a 'Volunteer' I don't have many rights, so I would appreciate any help or advice that anyone can offer. I am sure their are other people in this position, so it may help them as well. I have tried my best to contact her, but she is avoiding me. I only want what's right.
