While it's a polite gesture, you might be viewed as a brown noser by other co-workers. If the co-worker is stand-offish, I wouldn't.

I'm not sure if your question is what to say in such a note or whether to write one.

I'd say as a general rule it's advisable to err on the side of too much graciousness, rather than too little, and thank you notes are always appreciated. So I think it's a very nice idea to write one. It doesn't have to say too much; just a basic "thank you" for the "very helpful" training provided. If you want to go a bit further, you could add something like, "I feel very fortunate to have had the benefit of your expertise in my training experience."

Your own words would be much better, of course. And good luck in your new job!

No need for a note, but as a thank you offer to take them to lunch, and let the higher-ups know whata great job they did.

That's very thoughtful of you. I think you put this in law&legal to make sure you're not sexually harassing the trainer. Keeping it low-key - an email or a simply handwritten note - is most important. I think the gesture will be greatly appreciated.

Great idea. And, depending on the size of the company, sent through, or copied to the boss, so it can be endorsed if appropriate, and put in their personnel folder.

I don't think it is necessary to say it in a note, just tell em.

Sure. It shows you appreciated the assistance and time put into it. Who knows, you might make their day. Wish all people were that considerate.
