I decided that Finance is not the major for me, because I don't like economics or accounting. So I wanted to change it to something else, but stay in business. Other suggestions are open. Thanks.

My dad is 57 years old and he is having a hard time finding a job. He has a couple of degrees and says that his age and overqualifications are the reason he has been unable to get jobs.

There were a few instances where he was phone interviewed, got the job and when he finally went there, they let him go in a couple of days.

Does anybody have any suggestions, comments, or advice?

You could also talk about any experiences that you had.

I was hired for part-time hours because I'm a college student. They knew this and i am very committed to school and it comes first. Well, some people quit and they started giving me more hours. that was fine at first I could use the extra money. But then I was up to full-time hours and going to school full-time- this was not what i wanted. I told my manager and she said that they only wanted people to work full-time from now on. i told her they needed to reduce my hours and she said no so I quit. My family was so mad I quit. But they don't support me financially and I have another job lined up. So should I have stuck it out and done school at the same time?

Looking for any good sales stories, funny, impressive, strange.

Product that was almost too easy to sell?

Product that nearly no one on the planet could possibly sell?

Funniest sales story?

Worst boiler room atmosphere?

Let's hear it all.

After my introduction for an internship cover letter, I'm listing my experience in the following format:

--Your Needs: Ability to speak in front of groups..
------I have 3 years of tour guide experience.....

--Your Needs: Ability to......
------I am..........

Is this a good format? It seems very direct and avoids the straight repetition from the resume.

After this section, I spent some time talking about what impresses me about the company (current research, etc..), and why I would like to work there.

(I used hyphens here instead of tabs because I couldn't make html work on this site.)

I was recently fired from a job due to a schedule conflict. My boss text messaged me today and asked for my voice mail password so he could check it. I sent him what I thought for sure to be the password, and he messaged me back telling me it was incorrect.

He says that since he tried the password three times but it did not work, the system is locked and he has to have a technician come out to fix it - and it is going to cost $50. He is saying that he's going to deduct this amount from my last paycheck.

Is this legal for him to do, when it is his own equipment and he did not ask me to write my password down before I left or even when I first registered my voicemail? Any advice on how I can stop this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was told that I was "being let go" from a job, but found out that I am eligible for unemployment. However, the practice owner was not comfortable with providing me with a reference for future employers. It's not like they were down-sizing or anything, but I heard that if you're fired, you aren't eligible for unemployment...

I report to an immediate supervisor, but am not sure who I should give my resignation letter to. Should I give it to my immediate supervisor or to the president of the company?

We are a small company, about fifty employees. How much notice should I give? And how do I get recommendation letters before I leave?

Thank you.

I've been on maternity leave and have finally decided for sure not to go back to the job I love. I'd love not having to take my baby to child care more, though. Someone said that I will owe if I take my whole leave and then resign and I don't intend on paying my employer, so here is the question:

My 12 week Medical Family Leave began on October 10. I will inform my boss and employer of my plans to not return on

Wednesday, December 6. My day due back was going to be

January 2 -- that's 12 weeks.

I used up my vacation and sick time about 10 days ago so now my leave is unpaid. Help me figure out this math as according to what someone here on answers stated, I will owe them for I think 2 weeks at this point. Sorry if I have confused you along with myself. THANKS!!

Short version: I took Maternity/Family Medical Leave from October 10, 2006 - January 2, 2006. If I'm not returning, how much do
