I love dogs, and wouldn't mind having a job that specializes in dog behavior, like a dog trainer. I want to have a job that I enjoy, but one that makes enough money. Further information would be nice.

I am a 30 year old married woman. I recently got a job offer as a executive assistant to CFO of a big Japanese Multi-national company. This company has a very conservative culture. I am not sure what I can expect from this position apart from what the recruiter already told me.

I applied for this job as it required use of my bilingual skills. However, the job description also says "schedule meetings / arrange catering / answer phones" etc apart from using my bilingual skills to interact with clients.

Will I end up serving coffee, taking phone calls and being assumed to be a subservient bimbo? What can I expect? The tone of the recruiter sounded like I would be more of a "secretary" and less of an "assistant".

Any/all advise would be appreciated.

Reason to stay: I can't find another job that lets me be this lazy and pays me this much money. Period.

On the other hand, my boss' boss is coming in at 9 and leaving at 3 every single day, and while he is here he is busy trying to sell the company off to another company (former competitor, but not really competition now that we are getting out of that business). He is making no effort to hide this as he doesn't even close the door when negotiating (I could quote the exact dollar figures if I wanted to here). My boss asked if he will have a job after his upcoming two-week vacation, and was told that, even if the sale goes through, there would be a transition, and it would take until March of 2007.

Resumes are going unanswered. I'm on the brink of panic. What should I do?

My fiance was at work, I stopped by to give him his paycheck. While I was there, one of his co-workers,who had had a "blow up" verbally with my fiance earlier unknown to me,had become very verbal with vulgar language towards me. This co-worker's words to me was this:"Stupid F@*@ing C#@t!!" . This upset me greatly, I felt degraded by this woman. I believe that my fiance was fired from his job because I reported this female co-worker to her boss. Is this considered harrassment or is it called something else?

So far, knowbody has checked mine. How about any one else? The reason I asked is because I applied at the BNSF Railroad, for mechanical shop laborer. If anyone has any input, or experience with them, I would greatly appreciate it.

I must have gone on 10 interviews in the last 3 months and none of the jobs were offered to me. The employers look at me and first thing they sometimes ask is How old are u ? But they always want to talk to me after they see my resume. They tell me I am very intelligent but....young. How can a young person like you know this? How did you get so much experience being so young? Now, I am not that young... I am in my very late 20s , and I am pursuing clinical research. So far no luck.... I just want others opinions if what is happening to me is happening elsewhere.... On the margin, its flattering to be told that you look younger than your age but on the other hand its like someone telling you, you are too pretty to be this smart, etc.

I have read recently that generation Y (15--->29 year olds) feels that they do not have to pay their dues and work their way up in the professional world. They often express that they deserve to make $30,000+ with nothing more than a college education. Why have the rules changed for them when previous generations had to work very hard, often at poor paying entry level positions, before making a decent living. Why is generation Y exempt from this?

What did you do to get it?
I need tips. I've been looking for a whole month and interviews I had never really called me back. How should I sell myself if I am inexperienced!
