Due to some major past credit issues, and collections, I have recently thought about a Chapter 7 BK. I have gotten my equifax score up by getting negetive items removed, but I still owe them,. And on my TU and EX credit reports, they all still show and my scores are horrible. I have about 10 grand in total debt to file on. Should I just bite the bullet and do a BK?

I am also looking for sites that have free listings of foreclosures in cypress and buena park, california. Thank you for your help. :)

Okay so I finally got a new job that is willing to accept my registered partner as my "wife" as far as legally possible.
I have insurance for her through them.
The total amount that they pay out for her to have insurance is added to my taxable income for the year even though I don't actually make the extra.
I do not mind paying the tax on it at all but I calculated how much I will be making next year if I just worked my regular 40hrs a week plus the extra that they pay per year for her insurance. That extra 4800 a year that they pay just barly bumps me up into a higher tax bracket.
I do not know what I should do.
In the long run I cannot tell if it is worth it or not. Should I just pay for her own insurance not from my job? Is it really worth it to have to pay an extra 10% in taxes?

I have applied for a supermarket job about 10 times now at 5 different supermarkets. I am 18 years old and I am going to a community college. I have volunteer work experience, and the supermarkets say they will hire anyone who is able to work in the US. These supermarkets were hiring when I applied, and I did qualify for the job.

I was wearing a bottoned down shirt and a nice pair of pants when I handed in the applications and my resume. I also made follow-up phone calls after I applied.

I started my online business about four years ago and it's doing very well. So well in fact, that I've thought of opening a little boutique downtown. One problem, I fear jumping in with both feet & leaving my career. I've been there for 10+ years and the benefits are GREAT. However, I know it will kill me to have to hire someone to run "my" business because I have to work elsewear. I'll want to be there, hands on. Suggestions???

Hi

My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years now. Last year, I couldn't find a babysitter for my daughter so he stayed home watching her and now our new baby. He's child support payment have been accumulating since.
Now, because I have been supporting the whole family I was thinking about claiming him on my taxes but I'm scare Child support will confiscate my refund to give it to his older son's mother due to backed up child support. I mean, we are not married, we've lived together for 3 years, they can't take my money, can they?
My question is, If I claimed him on my taxes, would Child support garnished MY refund due to his child support?

Seriuos Answers only please. I will prefered if somebody who deals with the IRS or filing taxes experience will answer please.

I started a small business at the age of 19. I ran summer camps and did this independently for 5 years. The business went from a small seasonal business that grew. After having my first child I hired someone else to run it but quickly got bored so I opened another location. I then sold my first location and made a good buck so my current business has very minimal debt (almost none).
Fast forward to now...I am a mom of 2 kids...again someone else is running the company and is doing quite well. But I want to try something new...I've been in this daycare field now for quite some time and want to explore other options. It just feels impossible to do anything else. If I sold now I would cash in huge. If I didn't sell my business I still make a very very good income with "fring benefits" such as car, insurance, groceries, toys for my kids etc...I don't know what to do...what would you do? Sell or stick it out?

I'm looking to trade options in the near future but I have a question.
Is it possible to profit from an options contract if the stock has not hit the Break Even point yet?
i.e.
Apple -> current price is $60
1 x option contract is $15 with strike of $65
let's say the BE point is $70 here....
in about a month, assume the current price of the apple stock is $69 and the options contract purchased has gone up by $2 to $67...
could I then profit if I decide to sell the options contract back into the market and profit $200 (from the sale of the contract)??
The price is still below the BE point, but I could still profit?
thanks.

Alright. You all did it. You survived the Xmas holiday, and the day after Xmas sale fenzy. Consumer spending is low this year. How many of you have been hoarding money just for the opportunity to spend it on yourself for these sales? Who here wants to go on a shopping spree?

Star me if you are, cause as an investor I need to know consumer spending will pick up.

I live on the first floor of a two flat, which is a really old house and the basement is constantly flooding. It's musty in the basement, and I have reasons to believe mold is growing down there. My son was diagnosed as being allergic to mold more than a year ago and in addition to that he has bas asthma. My son has been having chronic asthma attacks for the last couple of years and has recently visited the ER. I am thinking there may be a connection with the basement and his condition. I want to get out of that house as soon as possible to prevent more asthma attacks. I am thinking about leaving as soon as next week. Is this a legitimate excuse to get out of my lease? What should my next step be with the management company?
