We usually file at HR Block, and always take advantage of getting our refund within 2 - 3 days.I have recently heard early refunds will not be given this year.Does this apply to businesses who offer this feature?

I've been asked to relocate to NY for an opportunity that I really want to accept, but the problem is that I only purchased my condo a year ago, and value has declined by $60,000 already. If I put the condo on the market, it would have to be a short sell, but I don't think the bank will accept such a big difference. What other options do I have other than foreclosure? I don't want to pay two mortgages, especially for one that I'm not living in. I'm eager to hear what can be done for situation like this. Thanks.

gave my 30 days notice, moved out after the 30 days. Its been over a month, I called landlord and landlord said that i will not get my rent deposit back because i trashed the place. Carpet needs to be changed and there was stain everywhere. They charge me over a thousand for all that stuff. After i left the place, i wipe that place clean from top to bottom and they said that there was alot of stain. What should I do?

I live in pa and thought that after the 2nd yr I could apply this to the last month of the second year since i am staying for a third. Pa LAw prevents holding a security dposit of more then 1 month after yr 2 of a lease. But the law says nothing about the final months rent??/Its a legal gray area

I don't really follow financial stuff, but I have $60,000 in the bank that I know I should invest, I also have another $10,000 in my checking account. But I'm afraid of losing it, so I don't buy any stocks or mutual funds. I'm planning on buying a house in the next year or two, so I'll need about $40,000 for a down payment. Any advice would be helpful, but no I'm not signing anything over to you.

I had to move out of town so I broke my lease. I worked out a deal with my landlord that she got my security deposit and an extra months rent. I paid this. Can this keep me from getting an apartment in the future?

My friend was an authorized user (not joint) on his brothers credit card account. His brother ended up making late payments and then doing a settlement on this account. Unfortunately, the credit for my friend, the authorized user, was also affected. The settlement appears on 1 out of the 3 agencies...therefore, I wanted to know what is the best advice, or best letter to send to a credit reporting agency to get this issue resolved.....

I am not looking to give the issue to any CREDIT REPAIR company or any other services. I am looking for a Do-It Yourself approach. Thanks.

It seems like all I do is wake up, go to work, come home and go to bed. I have to force myself out of bed every morning. When I get to work, I think to myself, didn't I just leave this place? I need to be more focused and motivated. I like my job. Please advise of any positive ideas or tips.

This is great startup internet company - and nothing similar exists in the market. We need an angel investor or line of credit. Getting seen by investors and taken seriously by a bank is the challenge.

OK so currently I have about $10K saved up. I am also expecting a $35K inheritance check within the next year. In addition, I have about $34.5K currently outstanding in student loans which I will be paying at about 6.5%. My question is whether I should use that inheritance money to pay off the student loans all at once immediately or should I keep that money and do something else with it (invest etc..)?

My W-2's in those years are both approax. 2,800. In theory, I could file for those years and take the EIC for more refunds, right? What is more upsetting to the IRS, being a non-filer or filing solely to take a refund?

Follow up question: I applied for a tax examiner position and will be going in with my documentation soon. With my head held high I will submit one form stating I did not file in '04 or '05. Actually, this is now a two part question: Is this foolish of me to do? and would not filing totally trash my chances of becoming a tax examiner this season?

I've earned about 60 PTO hours working full time, and at the end of next month I will be dropping down to part time. One manager told me that I would lose my PTO hours once I went to part time...and another manager told me I wouldn't. I wanted to just use them all next month but it's not really an option. I just want to be sure that I won't lose the hours I've earned. I work in California if that makes a difference.

I rented for 7 yrs. my landlords handyman bought the place abut 4-5 yrs ago. I signed a new rental agreement that i never got a copy of. This yr my landlord moved in up front after forcing the other tenants out who lived there for 15 yrs. My landlady was very nosy and they made life miserable for me. Fortunately a friend had a nice place that would be rentable in 6mo to a yr. They did some bad things to me while I was there waiting to move. But I kept my cool. When it came time to move I gave my 30 day noticed, cleaned the place and asked for a walk through a week before my last day there. After the walk through she would not tell what she wanted fixed. She sent me a list on my my last rented day when I handed the keys over. I got 1/4 of the security deposit back 27 day later in the the mail with a list of repairs. i plan to take her to small claims court. Do i have a chance. I have documented everything that ahppened to me and taken pictures.

I've had a lot of health problems that have completely messed up my finances so I need to move to a cheaper place. I still have 6 months left on my lease, though. How can I get out of my lease without being evicted?
