It seems like all I do is wake up, go to work, come home and go to bed. I have to force myself out of bed every morning. When I get to work, I think to myself, didn't I just leave this place? I need to be more focused and motivated. I like my job. Please advise of any positive ideas or tips.

if feel the same way sometimes....and I have nothing to complain about....solid career with some degree of security with a six figure salary in senior management, but some days I wonder as I walk in the door what I'm even doing here....until I realize how fortunate I am to have a job in this job market and economic state that the country is in, not to mention one that compensates me very well and doesn't just pay $10 an hour.....it pays my mortgage, keeps me fed and takes care of my children....and that's probably the biggest thing is that i have to think about my kids and the fact that I wouldn't be able to provide for them the way I do if I didn't have my job....I made the mistake of feeling this way once before years ago and left a perfectly good job that I was frustrated with and felt like I was running in circles and it took me over a year to find another one....during which time I found out firsthand what it was like to be wishing I was back in that place.....so, be glad you what you have and think about the alternatives and where you would be if you didn't have it....that should be enough to motivate you to get up tomorrow and do it all over again.....but, if you don't feel stimulated or challenged in your current situation, then it's time to start looking.....but just don't make the same mistake I did and leave the one you have now before you find something better....you'll really wish you had stayed....but I do understand how you feel.....some days I pull into the parking lot and just wonder why I keep doing it....

You say you like your job, but have trouble getting up in the morning to get there. That seems a little contradictory. What do you like about your job? What don't you like? List it out & be honest with yourself.

What can you change at work to make it better? Can you improve your relationship with your co-workers? Make your work space more inviting and appealing?

Are there certain responsibilities you might need help understanding or changing? Do you have a good relationship with your boss?

Are there other things in your life that you're not dealing with and maybe need to face?

What motivates you? Why aren't you more focused? Are there other things in your life that motivate you and how can you incorporate those things into your job?

What time do you go to bed? Are you getting enough sleep? How's the diet & exercise? Try changing up your routine, get to sleep earlier and try waking a bit earlier to catch a sunrise or go for a jog.

Add some positive foods to your breakfast diet that might help you get going in the morning.

Invite a co-worker to lunch or go window shopping.

Change up your routine and see what happens. Journal it out or keep notes (maybe a 'personal blog') and see if you can't pin down the problem areas that you can change.

Good Luck!

It doesn't sound like you enjoy your job if you have to force yourself to get out of bed to go to work., and need to be more focused and motivated. You have to enjoy your work immensely to be fully motivated. so maybe a change will do you good. There is no longer a stigma in changing jobs as it was during my first working years.

You can spend some money that you earn from your job in parties or whatever that could make you happier. Do you have something you want to buy? It's like a quest. Get the rewards upon completing.
