I live alone and travel often. I live outside Philly, so it's fairly cold right now. When I travel, I turn down the heat to lower the bills......but does anyone know the safe temperature I need to leave my house at to avoid the pipes from freezing. Right now, I'm leaving it around 58 degrees...and my bills are still high. Guess I'm asking how low can I go without causing a major pipe problem?

so, i have 1687 on my CC w/ 0% APR till jan. 2008.

i have to pay student loans too.

my question: should i pay my accrued interest off when paying for student loans or put all money toward CC so it will be paid off?

i plan on take my tax refrund, about 1200, and completely paying my CC. my CC interest will be 11%, after jan. 2008

i have a baby due in 2/08. i have to pay 250 monthly for daycare

i'm thinking that i should get rid off the CC bill because that's one less bill, and THEN focus on teh student loan, but i dont if that will hurt me in the long run.

my studnet loan interste is less than my CC

Legal Services will not help with this issue. The County Bar association does not always provide a good match. So far, I've tried the Yellow Pages and the Internet. But no luck so far. They either say that they don't handle my type of case or suggest the Bar Association.

PS: I live in Northwest Indiana (near Chicago). A Chicago attorney may not be licensed in my state.

fell in love with this house in short sale. asking 299,999.

Im approved for 350,000

I crunched the PTI and I don’t want to pay more than 280,000. my realtor checked the comp’s and the house priced reasonalbly. She said if i can come up with the closing cost it would help. I was going to put down a offer of 275,000 and have closing cost included. what are the banks point of short sale and i really don’t want to pay the closing cost. any reconditions?

Anyone else completely sick of these people that say they make 1200 to 1500 per month and then try to send you to their website. You know none of them are making that money and most have never even got a paycheck from that site. I remember someone sending me to cashcrate once, I did their little surveys, made 35 dollars, and got over 5000 email spams per week and I STILL get some spams because of that site.

I was in the mortgage industry for 25 years and like a lot of other people, I bought my home on an adjustable rate. My interest rate jumped 4% in the last 6 months and my payments increased $2000.00. I got laid off in January and have used all of my savings to keep the home while I find another job, but even though I put out over 100 resumes, no one wants to hire someone from the mortgage industry. I'm in foreclosure and on January 6th, my 5 yr old son and I will be on the street unless I find a job so maybe the mortgage company will work with me and let me pay the past due a little at a time. I'm running out of time so is there anyone who knows how I can stall for more time or knows an attorney that can tell me if it's legal to raise an interest rate 4% while rates have gone up less than 1%. I'm running out of time and I don't want to be homeless so any advice is appreciated.

I have a homeowners warranty already but it expires in January. I only had to use them twice and they seem to be ok. It being that I had no knowledge of how to choose. Can someone give me suggestions on how to pick a homeowners warranty package or has anyone had good luck with a particular company that is reasonably priced? I live in central Arizona and need one that has good a/c coverage due to the heat in the summer. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Trying to understand easily the difference between a posted intrest rate and an APY when it comes to a high yeild savings account or money market account. Does the same intrest rate always yield the same APY? Does a 5% intrest rate always give you a 5.11% APY or does it vary depending on if its calculated daily.................a little lost here.
Thanks!

According to California law do i have any right to argue with them for paint charges or regarding cooking smell charges. Can i sue them for this.

I'm 32 and was recently fired from my job (customer service). I can't seem to keep a job longer than 6 months. I've always wanted a career in the medical field. I have a GED and about 2.5 years of college. I never took school serious but now I see the importance of education. Where would a good starting point be to get into the medical field and obtain a degree? I want to be a X-Ray tech but there aren't any schools offering the program where I live (Sacramento, CA). Does anyone have any advise?

She asked us to take care of her and ill dad the rest of their lives. We bought a house together to get them out of their inadequate home before we sold it, and got an all interest loan on a house, expecting to pay the balance with the $$ of her old home. We told her we had no $$ and she promised to pay for 1/2 the house if we would take care of them. She pays 1/2 mtge. for her and dad, we pay the other 1/2. She has agreed to pay a mo. payment, but it is interest only for 10 yrs. She refuses to put any more $$ into the house after promising this to us for nearly a year and says she never agreed to do it. However, she did sign a contract at closing agreeing to be 1/2 owner. Now we will both be paying interest for 10 years, then a mtge of $2500/mo afterwards if we cannot put any $$ into the principal. We have rt. to svvrshp, but we cannot to pay the whole amt/mo. if one of them dies. We just found out she gave that house $$ to her girls. We can't sue. How can we keep the house?
