3 years ago I was unemployed with no health insurance and got pregnant. I got very sick and had to go to the emergency room twice. I went 2 more times as I was miscarrying and was told the total bills were over $7000. About a year ago a collection agency called me to get payments on a smaller part. As I started paying on it, they told me they received more and more bills. Then they told me that I couldn't make my payments anymore because they wouldn't cover the interest and that I had to pay a large lump sum by the end of the next week or they would put it on my credit report. I explained that I'm a single mother that could not come up with that amount so quickly. Later they sued me and added all kinds of fees on the total. Now they started garnishing my wages. With the amount they are taking out, I will not bring home enough to cover my rent and child care alone this month. I might have to quit my job for lack of child care, but then my child and I will be homeless too. What do I do?

I know economics is complicated, but I don't think economists really understand how complicated it is. By trying to complicate the tax code to match the complexity of economics they're just creating so much wasted productivity. Also, economics is so complex that it's not possible to take every income, expense, fairness and equitabity factor into consideration. Its just like insurance. There are so many risk factors to consider in determining someone's chance of an accident its not rational to even bother considering them. The best solution to both taxes and insurance should be simplification.

The home is in La Palma, orange county, california and the bank owning is not big. The home is listed at 589 k, comparable homes listed in the neihborhood are listed at 650k to 675k and there is another which is a short sale ( not bank owned) listed at 575k. My realtor suggested that 550k will be a fantastic deal but I am thinking to offer 510 - 520. I am ready to put down 80 -90 k.

My husband is in the military stationed in Iraq right now. He is coming home for R&R sometime in January. R&R lasts only 18 days and we don't have money saved up right now to do something special while he is here. His W-2 form is available online on January 22nd, but I was wondering if there was a way that H&R Block ( or another tax place) gave RALs with just the last paycheck stub of the year? That way we will have money to do something before he goes back to Iraq. Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a Personal Loan in the amount of $10,000.00 USD. I have been scammed in the past by lenders asking me to send money and I learned from this mistake and am not willing to do it again! I am in desperate need but have pretty poor credit. I am behind on bills but if I could just get out of this slump I'm in, I would have no problem paying one loan payment instead of a few payments a month. If anyone can help please answer this question for me! Also I want to advise people not to EVER send money to get a loan. This is a scam and people just like me are being taken ever day by lenders asking to send them money any number of reasons. Western Union is telling people not to do this because you never need to send money to get money. They are just trying to take your money and you can not get it back!
