I file single and claim zero on my taxes, so needless to say this damn government takes the max out. I dont have kids, my total federal taxes withheld is usually 4000 each year, however my refund is alway less than 1000, usually 900. How come its not even close to what i pay in. I feel i should get more back. I just dont understand. Please someone explain.

I have a renter's record of about 3 years now. I was in college for 4.5 years and am moving to a bigger city. I have 3 interviews in a city. 1 job is for sure mine if I tell them yes within the next few days, the other one I am still waiting on word as I have to go through a series of 3 interviews. Basically, I am locked down to have a job no matter what happens with this one job.

I have noticed some apartments being very strict about who they accept such as. "you need to have a stable job, working there for 1 year" and "You need to be currently making an income of 2x the rent" I need a place so I can start my jobs, but how can I start my jobs if they have such strict rules? Are all apartments like this? What are some strange rules you've heard of before to get accepted?
When I was living in my old apartments they were pretty lenient as it was a college town. Some apartments don't want you to have more than 2 kids and want proof of your pet's medical records...

He'll be working in my house while I'm at work, so he'll get a key to my house. The house I live in with my kids! I know people do it all the time, but I've heard so many horror stories about handymen. I just don't know what I should look for or ask about to screen the one I decide to hire. What do you look for??

Thanks for your help!

What does enrolling in Consumer Credit Counseling do to my credit? Is it considered AS BAD as bankruptcy? Trust me this is my last resort.

Part of my Business model is to have my sales people who are on the sales floor selling units, will also be part of the install process. My goal is to create a one person contact for the cleint, not a layered process of people. Does this add better value compared to the norm of having a sales person and a install person

I always had a hard time understanding this "Pay For Delete" method. From what I was told many CA don't deal with "Pay For Delete" agreement. I mean once your debt from the CA goes to the Credit Bureau how can the CA possibly have the authority to change a negative account on your record? I always thought the best thing the CA could do is to have it as a "Paid in Full" account. Also is it possible to negotiate a "Paid for Delete" on a Student Loan that went to collections?

i found out last week at the pharmacy that i had no coverage and then went back to work and they were "working on it"and said to bring in reciepts and that it would be cleared up in 48 horus or so. this is the 2nd time that has happened which really fires me up as my money is somewhere NOT paying for my insurance. furthermore i called HIP directly and they said i have not been covered since 11/1/07 due to employer not paying on plan. what rights do i have as now i feel they owe me my money back from 2 months of not paying my bill. also what should i be prepared for on their end when i ask. people are hearing they are being sneaky and after the first of the year we will be under a different plan and that they prob have cancelled this one prematurely and not giving anyone a heads up until they find out on their own. please give me any facts that i want and dont want to hear. where is everyones money going while its not paying the bills? this is illegal right, moreso with no notice

Say you short (naked "Put") 10,000 shares of Enron at 50. It goes bankrupt. You have the right to sell 10,000 shares at 50 that you don't own. But once the company goes bankrupt, its stock is no longer traded. How can you buy that 10,000 shares near zero so it could then be sold at 50?

The government take a tax right, which is mandatory. For argument sake lets say this tax gets deducted from your pay each week. Wouldn't you say the government owns your money (since you have no say whether they take it or not) and they are just letting you keep some of it?

I work at a fine dining , very popular restaurant and I left to go to school and the manager had called me asking if i could pick up shifts and when I would be home.

Well i have been home since tuesday at 3 and have already worked twenty hours as well as shopped and babysat AND helped my family cooked for Christmas.

I recently got over mono, and have been suffering from anxiety attacks. and I also needed money to get by.

Well I told my work I would pick up shifts And now they have me booked and scheduled all day saturday, sunday, CHRISTMAS EVE, all day Wednesday, thursday friday and SATURDAY. Then i Go back on the 2nd to move in to my other dorm and start training for my on campus job. I want to cry.

How do i talk to my manager, and come up with some sort of excuse. I am falling apart. I really dont want to lose my job but really cant do this anymore.

I filed one too many exemptions for a child deduction so I received a 1040X to amend this. I know I will have to fill out lines 1-5 and 25-32 on the back.
1) Can I skip lines 6-10 if nothing changed?
2) Can I skip lines 11-18 if nothing changed?
3) Can I skip lines 19-24 if nothing changed?
4) Line 6 (if I need to complete) - How do you check the method originally used (I attached a Sched. D to my original, so is that it?) and what do I write in which column?
Thanks in advance!
