I work at a fine dining , very popular restaurant and I left to go to school and the manager had called me asking if i could pick up shifts and when I would be home.

Well i have been home since tuesday at 3 and have already worked twenty hours as well as shopped and babysat AND helped my family cooked for Christmas.

I recently got over mono, and have been suffering from anxiety attacks. and I also needed money to get by.

Well I told my work I would pick up shifts And now they have me booked and scheduled all day saturday, sunday, CHRISTMAS EVE, all day Wednesday, thursday friday and SATURDAY. Then i Go back on the 2nd to move in to my other dorm and start training for my on campus job. I want to cry.

How do i talk to my manager, and come up with some sort of excuse. I am falling apart. I really dont want to lose my job but really cant do this anymore.

I don't believe you even need to make up an excuse. Just tell your manager how extremely hectic life is for you right now and you need to cut back on your hours. College is stressful and so is money, I completely understand. Just tell your boss that you need to cut back, if they don't understand that then you have to do what you have to do.

Now if that doesn't work and you just want to go with an excuse............

A "personal issue" always works, even if you need to let a tear fall.......you'll have it in the bag and you will release some penned up emotions at the same time.

You could have said no. You are doing him a favor by working during your break and were under no obligation to do any shifts.

You can still say no. Tell him you are worn out and that you can only pick up shifts on two of those days, then rest up the other days.

I, too, became a cashier such as you and that i became depressing working as one. i understand precisely the way you sense. i've got had the urge to offer up many circumstances. My advice to you would be to difficult it out until you hit upon yet another interest and characteristic secured it. At that component you may supply up, that's what I did. cling in there! simply by fact the previous announcing is going, "good issues come to those that wait!".
