I couldn't fit everything into that space so here is the deal:
My name is Sarah Besmer and I have recently moved into a room in an apartment in Chelsea, MA. When I moved in all I had to pay was the first months rent which is 350 + 50 for utilities and did not have to sign a lease, it is a month by month thing until July 1st. About 2 or 3 weeks after moving in the guy who is renting the room to me (who rents the whole 4 bedroom apartment from a couple who lives in the building) just told me that he is going to have to collect the last months rent in the next two weeks because there is some law stating that if I am going to be living here for more than 6 months that is required by law. I am trying to figure out if this is just a bogus law he is telling me about or if that is really a requirement. When I moved in the terms were very clear about my stay on both ends; I would pay 400 when I moved in and did not have to sign a lease, those were the terms. Now this last months rent up front has caught me off guard and at a very inconvenient time. Please if you could let me know if there is such a law pertaining to this situation let me know and maybe if you could explain the logistics of it that would help me out a lot as well. I don't want to be taken advantage of if it can be prevented. Thank you for your time

Hello, I am an Anthropology major pursuing a second bachelor's (BSN). After completion of the BSN, I would really like to go into a graduate program, most likely to be either an NP or a CRNA.

My question is, will the graduate nursing schools look at your grades only from your BSN degree or will they look at all of your transcripts?

Thanks!

What does it mean when a guy winks at a girl? The reason why I am asking is because I work at a health store and it is inside a small mall area. and the other day while I was working, during the morning time, every guy that walked by the store smiled and winked at me.

what do you think they were winking at me for? and why were they smiling?

Ok so I'm in big debt and I needed cash so I sold my Macbook pro...that alone sold for 1400 my Playstation 3 my nintendo wii ect ect ect...
pretty much I made 5k, I don't work I just go to college full time.

I was wondering since I'm doing my financial aid again if I should mention that...should I? I mean I don't have anything to sell anymore and what I sold was mine so I don't think I should give the government my money from what I bought and payed tax also. would they notice if I don't?

sorry I'm 19 no idea on tax yet.

It amazes me the level of incompetence that is present in my office. Does anyone else have this problem? It seems that most people are just "going through the motions" and there are just a few of us who actually know what is going on.

We are living in an apartment. A few weeks ago the washer (on the 2nd floor) overflowed. We turned off the water immediately when it started overflowing, but it had already flooded half the upstairs and the water was pouring down through the ceiling on the 1st floor.

We called the landlord and notified them immediately. It took them 3 weeks to come and do anything...the only thing they have done so far is vaccum the carpet and it's still moist (keep in mind it's been 3 weeks). They didn't pull it up like I thought they would have. Also the sheetrock on the cieling downstairs is discolored and hanging about 1" down...they still have not done anything about it.

I have expressed that I was worried about mold growing in the house. They told me that since we've had the a/c on mold won't grow...I know this is b.s.

Am I endangering my family by remaining in the house??

When I moved into my current residence I had a good washer and dryer. I told the landlord that I wanted to move in my washer and dryer and they could have theirs back...they refused to let us use our washer and dryer.

A few days ago my wife is getting done with her last load of clothes from the dryer when she notices these little holes in a pair of my boxers. She starts inspecting the clothes and finds that there are small tears on almost all of our clothes...I had a bunch of brand new stuff (some of it that was never worn), my wife had a bunch of victoria secret stuff in there (not cheap by any means) and a lot of my 2 year old daughters stuff had gotten torn up.

Since they refused to allow us to use our own washer and dryer and their dryer damaged our clothes, does that make them responsible??

My brother and I are inheriting a parcel of land from our late father's estate. My brother wants to buy my share from me. We are negotiating a price. What is required legally?

Do we have to have a closing like buying a house? Can I just sign away might rights to the title and deed? Do we need to go through the process of a survey and appraisal?

I have rented out a room in my 2 bedroom apt in venice and the person i rented the room to hasnt paid rent for part of nov and none for december. When I rented the room to her in May 2007 i was under the impression it was just for her and when she moved in and then her 16 yrd old son moves in i was in shock - being also a single mom at 1 time i let them both stay in the room out of pitty. When Sept came around I had already paid 6 months of rents when i moved into my appt. back in Feb. 2007. Then Oct came around and her rental portion of $1200 came to me very late, I expressed to her that i need the rent on time. Then Nov came and i didnt get rent unitl the end of the month and it was for part and now its Dec and no Nov rent or Dec rent. I asked her to leave and she hasnt, she is still in the room with her son I dont know what to do.

My friend wrote me a check to cash to give that cash back to her so that she could get a money order for rent. A week later, I receieved a letter from my bank saying that there was a stop payment on the check. I told my friend about it and she denied it. My bank froze my account and took out the amount of the check that I had cashed for her. She keeps telling me that she had enough funds to cover the check and says that it's my bank's fault for all of this. I even went through her mail (which was already open)to find a letter from her bank confirming the stop payment for that particular check. I haven't told her about this but she does know that I got a letter from my bank about the stop payment.

Is she lying to me or would my bank be at fault for all of this???

I checked my bank statement the other day and found someone had used my credit card number to sign up for several services that provide tips to gamblers. I contacted the merchants who charged my card and one of them provided me with the email address that was used to sign up for the service. Essentially, I have the email address of the person who took my credit card. Is there any way to figure out who took my card? If it is possible, can I find out who it is, or do the police need to get involved? Also, does anyone know how to contact Yahoo? They are the email provider of the theif and may have more information about the person who created the email account. Thank you for your answers

Two question on stock trading thru online brokerage:
1. How much do you have to pay taxes when you make money in stocks online, when buying and selling them?
2. Can you buy after-hours, let's say when you hear some news about some company? If yes, what price do you pay? closing price, or current after hour price? how does it work?

Very new in online stock trading.

Thanks

If You go and refinance your home that's not selling and borrow as much as you can with the intent of later telling the bank you can't afford to keep making the payments and the bank simply takes it back and you keep the money you borrowed and hide it somewhere and then simply file for bankrupsy. Is this legal? and if it is do you think this is moraly correct?

I usually file around Feb 5 -- as soon as I get my W-2 form form my employer and since I'm well below the AMT tax income threshold, I was wondering how I might be affected?

I do have some deductions however, that seem to bring my AGI to around $4K.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
