I live in a very expensive city (San Diego). I plan on being here for a while longer but don't want to piss money away on rent anymore.
The only thing I can afford to buy out here is a manufactured home because a decent 500sq ft. condo or townhouse out here won't go for less than $275K (yes I said 500 sq ft ridiculous, I know) and of course if I'm paying a mortgage, I want more room.
I grew up in the suburbs and know nothing about this.
Any info would be helpful.

I recently bought a laptop that was 1400 dollars. I picked the BML option. 90 days without interest offer. And I was wondering that if i only pay a thousand dollars of the total amount in the 90days. will the interest be only on the remaining 400 or on the initial total ? thanks for your help.

Are they built well? I have heard they are built really well nowadays. What about re-sell value? Would the home increase in value as much as another home? I have to admit when looking to buy a home and I see the word "modular home" I think lower quality. I would think other people would too.
What do you think?

wanted to know if i can take legal action! against the company i work for! as i have not had a lunch break for three weeks, and acording to my aera manager quote" thats what comes with being a manager!!" i work for a large retail company and my shift starts at 8:30 am to 6pm, really wanted to know if i can take further action as i feel the company are wrong!

There are tons of condos being built downtown and apartment complexes all over town were converted into condos not to mention all of the new housing developments being built everywhere and places sitting on the market for several months at a time.
With all of this surplus housing, how many years do you think it will be until an average chick like me will be able to buy a 1bd/1ba place for a reasonable price out here?
As it stands, the only thing I could afford to buy out here would be a manufactured home but those seem to have more hidden costs than a townhouse or condo would.

I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this. So here goes. High interest rates are given to people with bad credit or no credit. Or not enough credit. I understand the risk with bad credit. Why such high rates with the no credit or not enough credit? The banks shouldn't be surprised if some of these accounts result in default. People get into trouble when their interest rate is so high. Then they lose their cars and their houses. Doesn't it make more sense to give these people a lower interest rate to begin with? I realize it is a business and not a charity. If they are going to default. It doesn't matter what the interest rate is. A low interest rate is better than losing any profits from a repossession or foreclosure.

A friend of mine bought a house with a credit card (it cost less than $30,000). She said she did this because her credit card was at a fixed rate of 2.99% for the life of the balance. I have never heard of anyone doing this before. I thought credit cards accrue interest differently than loans do, and I think she made a huge mistake. Maybe I'm wrong, but please let me know if you know anything about credit card or loan interest and how it is incurred.

Hi, The IRS sent me a letter saying there is a discrepency with my 2005 return, but I can't open the 2005 file any longer to take a look. The file is still on my laptop. Maybe because when I installed TT 2006 it removed 2005??

I have been unemployed for 3 months now with no luck, so I signed up for a temp agency. They called me tell me they got a call from a company I interviewed for back in '05. I was the runner-up. They wanted me for a temp to perm position that fits my skills to a T plus the salary is great. It's work I love to do, so I jumped at it. I've been there for 1 week & everyone there tells me they want to hire me. Great, BUT...The company is located next to the Philly airport & south of the 3 football/baseball/concert arenas. I live 45 min by car (w/no traffic). I decided it's best to use public trans. So to get there, I take the regional rail train to center city Philly, hop on the subway, jump onto bus & then walk a few yards. Then I repeat the process in reverse. The bus picking up to take me home, doesn't run frequently. I've been working 9-5:15 & still get home about 7-7:30. On average, it takes me over an hour either way.
What to do? I have little debt, rent +. No kids, just hubby.

My husband has a great job in the oil fields but before that we were in awful debt and owe alot of these payday loan places so by the time we pay them we don't have enough money to pay the bills so we have to get more payday loans if I could just find someone willing to give me a loan with a monthly payment I could pay all of them back and finally get back on our feet

Having spoken to a representative at the cc company on several occasions, the late fee has been reversed and the account taken out of collections. However, the account balance is still wrong and doesn't reflect the August payment. The answer I receive is that they are investigating where the money went. First of all, if my payment was mistakenly applied to another customer's account, how exactly is that my problem? I made a payment, proven via a copy of my cancelled check yet they're investigating where the money went. When I heard this, things boiled over. I could care less WHERE the money went because all I know is where it DIDN'T go (toward my account) and where it isn't as of now (already withdrawn from my checking account). My answer to their having to investigate was, "I don't understand what there is to investigate. You have a copy of my cancelled check which proves I made the payment now just apply it! THEN figure out where it went." Can't wait to rid myself of this lousy card
