My spouse and I own one home, which we are renting
We are purchasing a second home
My income, alone, should be able to qualify for the loan
My spouse is temporarily between jobs, due to relocation
Our credit scores are both in the 700 range, with hers slightly higher
We have approximately in 30K in bad debt (auto/credit card), most of which is under my SS#, though we could move some over to hers

A low score causes someone in difficulty to have even more problems with higher interest rates, higher insurance rates, maybe a job denied or an apartment denied, and this is another way people get kicked when they are down. Studies that show a low score predicts future credit problems ignore the fact that the low score make it a self-fullfilling prophesy. What do you think?

Hi,

Can you please offer any advice on my business idea? Do you forsee any problems please?

I have this idea for a small business. I have done some research, and found that there may be a demand for this product. I want to create a small electronic device, that people can use to experiment with high frequency sound.

I am planning to just sell a small transducer (to create the sound) and a photo copy of a plan for an amplifier (plus circuit diagram) which people could take to any electronics technician, like and electrician and have built.

Once I pay to have the transducer designed, it should be able to be built for under $20us pc in asia. The complete package that I sell (just transducer and photo coppies) should be no larger than a packet of cigarettes, and weigh less than 200g. I should be able to ship it cheaply through the standard mail to just about anywhere in the world. I am hoping to sell this product for under $100us.

I just moved into an apartment in Denver/Glendale less than a week ago. I signed a six month lease. The lease does not cover pest control. Here is what I've been through: killed 25+ roaches within my first three days here. Thursday my apartment was sprayed, but I found and killed nine later that night.
I have bed bug bites on my leg, arm, chest, and even my face.

Management tried to say I brought these with me, but I had to look roaches up to see what they even looked like. I have never had bed bugs. I don't feel remotely comfortable living here, and upon speaking with management/other tenants this is an ongoing problem that isn't going to be fixed.

When I was being shown the apartment it was during the daytime, and I was told there were "a few bugs from time to time", not PESTS. I realize I should have asked, but I am not experienced with this.

Is this considered a breach of lease? If not, how would I get out of my lease and not pay the fees?

My husband's friend is now staying with us. (He has no where else to stay). He is sleeping on the couch, but he has access to all the food in the house, gets to watch cable tv, uses my computer and telephone.

I don't want to stir up trouble, but I don't want freeloaders either.

I am renting my beach condo. My husband has been hired by another condo owner to do some work on the condo next door to mine. My tenant is furious that my husband is on the building premises and wants him to leave. She only has another month to go but she says that her vacation is being ruined because the "landlord" is near her working. Is this crazy? she is also furious that we are doing some painting outside the building and had to pout some plastic on the windows.

Man is 68 and woman is 62 and have been living together for many year and most likely will stay together till death. Each intends to leave their half to their house to their respective child from a previous marriage. This seems like a stupid arrangement to me. What better arrangement could be made without anybody feeling it might lead to a breakup of their relationship?

Because I sure didn't and learned the "hard" way...Please let me know if you knew this or not. I am feeling kinda stupid right about now, because I didn't. (Article quote attached.)

"As a FYI to readers, most auto dealers & auto loan lenders use what's called an "auto industry option" of the normal credit score. For Equifax, their latest model is called the Beacon 5.0 Auto. The auto credit scores pay particular attention to past credit performance on auto loans, supposedly with a higher weight given to installment loans. That is why, for example, if you have a poor revolving (credit card) history, but you have never been late on an installment loan (auto loan, mortgage, student loan), your Beacon 5.0 Auto score may be considerably higher than a normal Beacon. As far as I know, the auto scores are not available to the public. That may be why, when car/truck shopping, your score is different than what you may have pulled up on the internet. Hope that helps."

My wife and I own a home together. Someone said to get a mortgage for that second home, I might be better to take my name off our house and transfer ownership just to my wife. So when I buy the next house I will be the only owner on that one.

This is will be my first job, and I chose Best Buy because I saw a "Now Hiring" sign on the front. I chose merchandising specialist, because I'm only 16 (going into Grade 12) and I need a job, and merchandising specialist basically meant working around back packing and unpacking and putting stuff in their place.

I can only work a a couple days a week because of school and I as above mentioned I don't have any previous job experience. Who thinks I'll get the job?

My husband is American, I am Canadian, and we live in Canada. If he buys a lottery ticket in Canada and wins a large sum of money, does he have to submit a form to the IRS declaring this?

I know a little about US tax laws but have not been able to find the answer to this specific question. I know that lottery winnings are considered "unearned income" and that if he were in the US, he would have to declare his winnings and be taxed on it. I also know that he has to declare his regular earnings while in Canada however, I could not find any information on whether or not foreign lottery winnings have to be declared.

I got a part-time job at wal-mart a week ago. After 4 days as a new cashier I quit today. After hearing some serious cashier horror stories, I decided that I didn't want to deal with all the drama. Do you think I made the right choice??? Although, I do need some extra money, I thought that it just wasn't worth it. One of the CSM's (customer service managers) told the cashiers that a man wanted to return a bee-bee gun, but the barcode wasn't the same. He was denied the return. He then returned with blood all over his face & hands and said he was bleeding from the BEHIND...he then held the bee-bee gun to the CSM. THe police came, but the man escaped. The customers were completely stunned. The cashiers were scared. I was like...this is ridiculous. I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE. What do you guys think???
