How many stamps do you put on an 8 and 1/2 by 10 1/2 envelope to mail?

and do you by stamps at the post office only? I know pretty sad but Ive never mailed before

Does Not go by size ,
The required postage is based on Weight .
Take it to the post office and they will weigh it .
