My husband and I are moving from one rented flat to another on Saturday. Our current landlord came round earlier today (my husband was there and I was at work) to inspect the property. She said everything was OK and that we would get our deposit back but she said she would need to give us a cheque. My husband told her that we needed it back in cash as we need to give a cash deposit to the landlord at the new flat. We originally paid the full deposit in cash. She said she would 'see what she could do' and would try to give us part cash part cheque. Can she do this? Surely as we gave her the deposit in cash we are entitled to get it back in cash? Without it we are unable to pay the deposit on the new flat.

Okay, our lease is up for our apartment Aug. 31st. My roomate is planning on moving out at the end of july. Should she still be responsible for splitting the cost of the electricity bill with me? I personally think she should, becuase she is binded to this lease until Aug. 31st and it's not like I'm going to pay her aug. month's rent just because she's not living here.

We are not getting along well at all and I have a feeling she may say something like "i wasn't here for the month of august so I shouldn't have to pay half the electricity bill" I'm sorry, but since she is binded to the lease I think she should, even if she is moving out early, she is still part of the lease.

My girlfriend and I are looking to move to Arizona and we are finding very cheap new construction in Arizona City. Is it just because of the location or what? It’s a good hour away from Tucson or Phoenix, its kinda’in the middle. Just curious as to why housing is cheaper here than it is in most other places of Arizona. Any help is appreciated.

I recently received a letter from a loan servicing center about a loan from 1995. I had purchased a car from a finance company that is now no longer in business. I was treated so badly by this company (in person and over the phone) that my stepfather (who was the cosigner) told me to tell them to come and get the vehicle in 1995 which they did. I received a threatening letter from this loan servicing agency saying that I still owe almost $7000 which is more than the car was worth 12 years ago when I bought it. I contacted them and all I got was more threats. My stepfather has since passed away and I am wondering what my legal rights are as far as this.

Can anyone explain these terms to me? I know the 3 definitions viz:

- Debit that comes in credit that goes out
- Debit the receiver credit the giver
- Debit all expenses and losses credit all income and gains

But these definitions confuse me and sometimes seems to be contradicting eachother. Can someone help?

Hi, I'd appreciate any feedback...I'm thinking of moving out to this area and I'm wondering what the job prospects are for a college graduate, not in business or scientific fields, looking for an entry-level position. Which areas of these states are prosperous and which should be avoided? Thanks!

I have an interview with a small animal hospital in my home town here in Lexington, Kentucky. I am sure I will be asked about what I am expected to be paid, but I honestly have no clue. I am currently making $9.25 as an office manager for a small construction contracting office. After reading descriptions of the job and considering it may include working as a receptionist/clerical help, I would figure definately more than minimum wage. For just a receptionist in my area I see offers of $9-$10 and even more. Any advice on where I should start?

Don't bother if you're just going to tell me what website I should look at....been there, done that.

A S.African just know me thru internet and ask me to help him do investment. He need me to email him my identity doc (passport), contact address and phone no...etc then he will ask his representative agent to send me the money. He said the money is from his dead friend and he could only take care of the money for a few years until his friend's son reaches 18 of age. Is it a trap? Is there anyone experience this before?
