The total allowance claimed is 2. In column 3 I checked Married. Can anyone tell me what I did is correct? Will I owe money at the end of the tax year? Will I get a penalty? I earn $1k a month.

I was convicted of 2 misdemeanors in Dec of 2006, served prison time, attended a 21 day rehab and I am currently on probation for the next 2 years. I have been applying for jobs like crazy,go on the interviews, impress my prospective employer but then comes the background check and thats where it goes sour. I was addicted to OxyContins. I am not anymore but I feel that my life is still being negitively effected, which in essence effects my children. I so badly want a normal life and a normal job. I am a good person but I don't feel anyone sees me as "good" anymore. Any advice???

i read an article from a financial newsletter that was talking about alloital title, and the "trick" where if you buy a home and then dont ever record it with the city you live in, you dont have to pay property taxes. the logic behind it was that you are assigning the property to them so that they can then use your property value to bond out. so my question is 2 fold. are you required (by law) or other statute to record your home, what happens if you dont record it?

I didn't start any school yet...so kind of fresh out of high school, I got accepted into this private college in San Diego, CA for RN, (again, no prior college exp.) and found out that the classes are non-transferable. would that mean that if I were to go after my BSN afterwards somewhere else (non private hopefully due to expense), I would have to take all the gen. ed again? OR...since I have my ADN already, I can just apply at any RN-BSN program?..I know this may be a really dumb question but I need some help fast! any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

My mother and I agreed to go in together and buy a home and split 50/50. She paid her half in cash, $62,000.00, and I financed my half. The mortgage co. wrote her "half" as down payment, and labeled it "gift fund from mother". Is my mom going to have to pay gift taxes on this amount now? What if I "sell" the house to her, would that alleviate her from the gift tax?

I want to be a doctor, but I also want to be a businessman. I realize that this is typical for someone thinking about what to do, but I feel locked in that I want to be both of them.

Would it be realistic to become a doctor while managing businesses? (restaurants, clubs, etc.)

Or, should I become soley a doctor or business man. Which one would you prefer?

Hey, basically my job description was very misleading - it implied a very extensive, interesting range of tasks which make use of my skills, but instead this student office job consists of inputting numbers into spreadsheets and cellotaping bits of paper.

Recently, I had a random task added to my daily duties which involves collecting garbage and cleaning at some rubbish depot on site. I was shocked as although this job needs to be done, it should not be my responsibility and I find it quite demoralizing as my managers know i've been wanting some more challenging/helpful responsibilities in the office.

Also, a few people who have been there longer but still have the exact same position as me and work with me have not been given this job. My manager also refused to allow me to do some over-time in another of his departments.

What are my rights? This was not on the job offer/description I signed.
