I am so, so sorry for you and your mother and that you have to go through this big ordeal. You should call the store/stores around where she lost it, especially if it might have been dropped in a parking lot or even in the store itself. You should also call the police office closest to where she might have lost it and others around there. Also consider placing a classified in the newspaper. Have the credit cards, green card, and any checks that she might have had canceled. I wish you the best of luck finding it and I will say a special prayer for you.

You can help her. Cancel all her credit cards & bank cards, have them replaced by new ones with different numbers. Change all her account numbers, report it stolen. They will send her new cards/new accounts. Call the Social Security Department & report her card was stolen (they will send her a new card). Call the 3 major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax & TransUnion) put a fraud alert on her credit incase of identity theft. You also need to call the Immigration & Naturalization Office & report that her green card was stolen. They will have to just send her a new card. They will take care of it. And her I.D. (driver's license or state I.D.) call the DMV and report it stolen, everything can be replaced. But watch the credit card bills & her credit b/c who ever stole her wallet might steal her Identity & is probably going to use her credit card to buy things, so cancel all the cards RIGHT NOW. and make a police report after you do everything.

She'll have to apply for duplicates of the documents she had in her wallet. She should call her credit card companies and report the cards as lost so nobody can charge items on them.

Losing wallets happens - it's not the end of the world. She'll be OK, it will just be a pain to get everything replaced.

you should call the local police station and report a stolen wallet and have your credit card and green card account shut down.
