I also need help from a lot of people who know what they're doing. I want to start a website either about somewhere younger disabled people can come to and share their experiences and stories and pictures or I'll want to start a website for local people to chat with each other and tell what they'd like to do around town. Because in this town there's not very much to do and not believe that if it is a very good website it would get lots of attention. I just need help figuring out which one would be the best and also how can I get people to pay for ads on the website and I also need to know about how much money it would take to start up a website. I would do not have much money but something like this would be great for me because I am a quadriplegic and I'm all my computer from 10 to 12 hours a day. If you want to help me or maybe even be a partner with me you can post here or e-mail me at quad.mom.2005@Hotmail.com

My husband and I are very young (19) and don't have a lot of credit. The only thing we have is our monthly house payment ( we rent) which is 800 a month, utilities, and my wedding ring payment. No car payment, loans, or anything like that. We are getiing a credit card and we are going to buy one big thing ( probably a big screen TV) and are going to put the card away and pay that off over a few months. He has a good job ( he is a firefighter) but we need to build some credit.
So my question is: can someone explain to me about payments on a credit card ( how much?, every month? weekly?) and what a good card company would be for us? Discover, visa, Capitol one, American express???

Let's say you realize a $100,000 long-term capital gain on a stock sale in a particular year. This is taxed by the federal gov't at the 15% long-term rate, right? But is it also taxed by the state (NY in my case)? I think I read this $100,000 is taxed by the state as regular income. Wouldn't that result in a huge tax liability? I kinda thought the 15% rate was the whole deal. If it's also taxed by the state as income, the effective rate is really well over 15%!? Can anyone shed some light on this? Any reference materials I should check out?

I returned an item to a seller. He would not contact me after that. I started a claim. He would not respond. I started a dispute. After weeks, Pay Pal told me to return the item I had already returned and send the tracking number. I sent the tracking number and explained that was the reason for the dispute. I already returned the item and he did not refund. Finally, after a month, they write and say the tracking number is invalid (it is not; I have checked it myself and the item is delivered) and case closed. Just like that! They didn't say why they considered it invalid; if the guy was insisting he didn't get the item. They didn't explain anything. Does anyone know if there is a way to now fight this pay pal decision or someone I can turn them in to?

I injured my shoulder on the job due to repetitive stress. I worked at a grocery store. They tell me that maybe I should find a new job, the doctor says it is unlikely I will be going back to work, and that even after surgery, which I should be having soon, this will affect me for life. I have been out for months now. Should I start looking into a new career? And if so, how? I pay rent, I take care of myself, and I can't afford to go to school without an income, and where could I work with one arm? Should I look into trade school? Or should I just go to our local junior college? I want to be able to support myself, and a family in the future, I want to set myself up nicely...but I am so lost and alone here lol, can anyone offer me some advice? I like computers, if that helps, I like a lot of different things...maybe I should go play guitar on the street corner with a bucket to collect tips.

...not to mention doing a half-as job. Yard floods, bugs under the final finish of hardwood floors, stain (wood stain) and cigarette burns on carpet, driveway has multiple cracks and oil stains, missing door knobs, irrigation system that misses parts of the lawn, cleaning spray stains on walls, the list goes on. What actions can I take??? I closed 28 days ago and was told the punch list was going to be completed in 30 days. Its not even close.

I talked to the manager of a decent japanese restaurant and asked if I could work in the establishment. He was quick to say yes and it shocked me. He told me that I will start this Friday. He explained the uniform code that i should follow and set me up with a mentor. Because it all went too fast, and it was my FIRST job, i forgot to ask for the hourly wage... I think the manager assumed that I would work for minimum wage, which is what $6.67(FL)? I was expecting more of around $7.50 per hour. What should i do/say and when is the best time to do it?

My grandmother is in a nursing home. She is in a private room for $ 6,000 a month. She has long term care insurance, which pays just a little bit. She pays the rest with her pension and savings. Her account is shrinking very fast. The insurance will stop to pay soon.

When she lost all her savings, she will have to use her pension and Medicaid pays the rest. She is concerned, that she will loose the right to be alone in one room. The Medicaid people are in rooms with 2 beds. She is very sensitive to noise and smell. She is sick and wants to be alone.

When she receives Medicaid, will she be kicked out of her private room?

How can I protect her, so that she still can keep her room?

I live in California. I have just signed the lease for a one-bedroom apartment. I asked the rental agency if I could have the shower-head removed to have a shower wand installed. I was told this is not possible because shower wands "have caused problems in the past". It is unclear what kind of problems these were, I guess they just want to save water, since they pay for it. So my question is, Can I still legally replace the shower-head? It wouldn't be a permanent modification - I could put the old one back when I leave the apartment.
Thanks!

My fiance and I are looking to buy our first home. We live in an area where homes are really expensive so we'd like to try buying a forclosure. We've found a couple online but we're not too sure about what exactly what they mean. One listing we like says it's Real Estate Owned and in the final step of the forclosure process. The ownership has reverted to the lender. It has an estimated sale price listed that fits our budget.

What I was wondering was is there anything else we should know before we decide to move forward with this? Does this seem like a good idea or is it too good to be true?

Thank you!

My fiance works for the govt. When he travels he has to pay all travel expenses and his job refunds him at the end of the month. He recently spent about $1500 on a work trip and did not get his refund on time, so his account went in overdraft. Do you think the bank would be kind enough to refnd overdraft for that reason? No rude answers please.

I am asking for a friend, as they say! I actually am. She has been of work for about 2 months and is being paid short term disability through her insurance policy at work. A friend of hers told her she may be forced to pay back any wages she received if she quits. Her doctors have not released her to go back to work after a surgery she had, so she has a legitimate excuse. Any ideas of the consequences, if any??

Like many others, I screwed up my credit as a younger man. I made a few mistakes, and cleaned up as best I could, but I ended up with a ~1200.00 charge-off that was first opened on 09/2000.

I know the seven year statute means that it was supposed to age out in March. I pulled up my Experian report today, and it says it will expire on that date.

However, I then pulled my Equifax -- which did not have this account on it before, and now it says that this 1200.00 account has been first reported on 06/2007! That's three months after the expiration date, and now it will run for 7 years!

I live in NY -- is this legal? Can I force them to remove it? HELP!

A friend told me you can buy old aged credit lines on the Internet to improve your FICO scores. You never actually get the cards in the mail. It's usually a broker that has clients that have old American Express cards from 1970 in perfect standing and they add you as a user so you inherit their good credit. Is there any truth to this? I'm sure the pitfalls are what if the person stops paying? Then you're out of luck I guess.

My landlord mailed us a 3 day notice thru regular mail. He did not post it at our house or hand it to us. I was under the impression that "post and mail" meant both had to be done. Is it legal to only mail a 3 day notice in the mail...it was not certified mail.
