One of the three roomies bailed with out paying. He lied to the land lord saying he had lined up another person. the remainding roomie said that he did not want me to replace that roomie, that he would take responsibility, two months later I was told I had to pay $660 in stead of $550, He told me that the rent was only $1350, that I had been over charged and that we could over charge the next roomie! Iasked him (the roomate) what notice I had to give to to leave. I then promised him two month instead of the one he said had to be given. I also found a replacement for my room, she was given the paperwork to by the landlord. She moved in and I assumed she had signed the paperwork. As I looked to replace the guy who left she asked me if her boyfriend could take the lease instead. So he was given paperwork. I drove 45min to meet with all new residents and they said I didn't need to be there and that all was fine. He now tell me he doesn't have her # after seeing her. That is my prob-

What I know is: Clearance sale means the goods are in brand new good condition, only a sale to reduce inventory

But recently when I bought a mobile on the net, this word "clearance" seems to have tricked me. I was able to discover that this "clearance" means ......." By using reconditioned/clearance stock, we are able to offer you even further savings on your monthly line rental! These items are either ex-demonstration, trial or mail order returned"

Now I realized that I have not brought a brand new item.

So I want to clarify the meaning of this word. Thanks for helping in advance.

I am planning to buy a retail liquor store in St. Louis. Sales are about $400,000. Average total mark-up is 23%. Profits after imputing a wage of $10/hr. are less than $15,000/yr. Any guidelines or rule-of-thumb on what a reasonable price for a business of this type might be, in addition to inventory?

Our apartment has a central air unit. The unit is located in a room that's next to our bedroom. The condinsation from the unit began leaking and it's soaking the floor and walls of our bedroom and living room, we had to move things out of both rooms so that they wouldn't get ruined and we're no longer able to use our central air and it's about 90 degrees in here! There's also mold growing on the walls and the stench is so horrible! We called our landlord and he acted very concerned at first and said he's get someone right on it. Now, he's ignoring us, not returning calls etc, etc. What should we do about this? Should we call someone else?

Rumor has my company relocating. How far can they move from our current location (San Jose CA) before they'd have to pay our relocation costs? From where I happen to live it'll no doubt be farther away. Certainly for others it may be closer.

My boss at work is only giving us 1 break (a 30 minute lunch with 10 minutes added on) for a full days shift. Myself and some coworkers are very upset and since this is ongoing and getting worse, we want to report this issue. But I can't find any details on how to report it. Anyone know?

I have an account that I hardly ever use anymore. The money in the account was very low, up until I got a letter in the mail stating that there had been a deposit of almost $12,000. I have no idea where the money came from, but it has been in there for almost a month now. I spoke with several people and no one knows exactly what to do about the situation. My mom occassionally deposits money in my account, but never that much. If it was their mistake, wouldn't they have caught it by now? What should I do?

I have recently decided that I would like to become either a web designer or web developer...I spend quite a bit of time online and really would like to learn how to build my own website. I am thinking of taking a few courses at the Art institute of Washington so I can get a diploma in web design. I suppose I just wanted to ask if it would be worth while for me to do so? I see many job listing around the area for web designers so I wouldn't have a problem finding work if I have a good enough portfolio but is web design a good career path to choose?

I signed up for phone service with McLeod USA and I switched carriers to AT&T because of no service for 4 separate weeks and my small business directory listing was not in the upcoming phone book as promised. The deadline for the phone book was Jan.31 2007 and I signed up in Nov. 2006. AT&T charges a $99 early termination fee. But McLeod charged me an outrageous $612.87. Is that legal? They didn't specify in the contract either. Please let me know your opinion.

I live in Michigan, and recently separated from my Significant Other. We rented a house, and had signed a lease each year for the past three years. We did pay first/last/security on the house when we signed the first lease. The last lease, he was the only person on the lease. The lease expires in July 2007, but the landlord wants me out of the house. She will not sign a new lease with me, and she hired a laywer who sent me a letter that stated I was trespassing and I had to move out. I'm not sure whether I am considered a tenant, or not. I can't afford the house, but I don't want to get sued for past rent or any other costs. I did contact a lawyer, and it seems as though the landlord is going to sue me, even though I am moving in a week. Is is possible for me to be sued for any costs, even though I am not considered a tenant by the landlord?

Hello, I recently became a member of the Apple Patch Diet Opportunity Program where they have you advertise their product and earn money.

I read that it guarantees 250 dollars the first month or your money back so I thought that I had nothing to lose since it only cost 29.95 dollars to sign up.

Now here is the question and I want people who have actually been apart of this program for at least three months to answer. Does this work or is this some scam? Is the 250 dollar guarantee true?

I have read other questions about this but no one gave a detailed answer.
