One of the three roomies bailed with out paying. He lied to the land lord saying he had lined up another person. the remainding roomie said that he did not want me to replace that roomie, that he would take responsibility, two months later I was told I had to pay $660 in stead of $550, He told me that the rent was only $1350, that I had been over charged and that we could over charge the next roomie! Iasked him (the roomate) what notice I had to give to to leave. I then promised him two month instead of the one he said had to be given. I also found a replacement for my room, she was given the paperwork to by the landlord. She moved in and I assumed she had signed the paperwork. As I looked to replace the guy who left she asked me if her boyfriend could take the lease instead. So he was given paperwork. I drove 45min to meet with all new residents and they said I didn't need to be there and that all was fine. He now tell me he doesn't have her # after seeing her. That is my prob-

In that case, I'm assuming the bailed out roomie lost out on her share of the security deposit which is always the case.

You signed on your terms of the lease. Frankly, you can walk out in this case (and lose your share of the security).

Depending on the location you're in this may or may not be an issue. Rentals come and go and you should stick to anything hard especially with roommates.

Your landlord sounds like a single person (not a corporation); corporations may bring you to court and the three of you would have to pay the remainder of the rent.

You signed a contract, and your stuck with it. Unless the landlord is willing to let you replace yourself with another person.
If you want to you can take the roommate to small claims Court to recover the rent.
Your other roommate is scamming you!! Two month for One.WHY?
Your girlfriend don't trust her if she gave the paperwork to her boyfriend then she can't pay the rent as of yet.
Find someone who is willing to pay.
Then set down with all your roomies and set up a budget
which you all share equally in all the expenses. then have a contract written up confirming this and have each of you sign it. make copies and give each of the roomies a copy and have the landlord keep a copy in your file.
If you want more details and advice, I suggest you contact the housing authority or a lawyer.
This should solve your problems

Unfortunately, you may be stuck. You signed the lease with your landlord. You can't assume that other people will sign paperwork taking over your lease, you need to make sure they do and that it is sufficient for your landlord. Sounds like you may be able to sue your original roommates however. I suggest you check with a lawyer.

Lady Stang....PLEASE do some research on FEDERAL law! In the case of Ohio requiring certification, the ADA trumps. This basically means that the Ohio requirement is useless because the ADA directly states that certification is not required! Asker...It sounds like you have an ESA, not a service dog. For housing, the FHA applies for most housing situations. There are exceptions to FHA. For example, it the homeowner owns 4 or less properties and lives in one of them, then they do not have to accommodate. Also, the FHA allows reasonable accommodation, not for you to have as many pets as you want. The argument could be made for only allowing one of the cats. This is a situation where finding pet friendly housing is probably your best bet.
