Hello Everyone,

I have always done my taxes myself. However, I always hear from friends that they got a larger return by using a preparer. I am single, Claim 2, Income that does not qualify for a free file, have property tax and mortgage interest to claim as well as some student loan interest. Employer 401k. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Do Preparers get more for you then software??

Okay for once im actually able to start paying off the collectors and my debit but i wonder is it better to pay the full amount like 500 dollars or is it better to settle for like 250? Does that change anything? will my score not improve as much? Basically is it better to pay off the total or settle or does it not matter?

I was fired from a full time job that I had last year. It was due to a misunderstanding with my boss. I have since moved on and am looking for part time work until I get ready for graduate school this fall. I am worried though as to what I should put on the applications that I fill out as my reason for leaving my last employer. I want to be honest, but I know that putting fired on their doesn't look to good. I am not sure either if they will call my precious employer and ask him for the reason as well. I just want to find a job and work and get on with my life.
