Nope. I turn sweet as pie - that usually p*sses them off even more.
However, if personal insults are hurled in my direction, the gloves come off and the b*tch comes out! (That only happened once.)

No you just be super polite to them. It looks bad if you yell as well and its not professional at all. You have to act like the customer is right even when they are not.

I handle them really well. I give eye contact and make sure they are being heard and take them just as seriously.
I don't act really nice or they feel betrayed that my emotional state does not reflect how they feel or it would make them angrier because it looks like I'm patronizing them.
I look, listen, and repeat what they just told me so that they are heard... then, I work with them to find that solution.
In my mind I tell myself that they know not what they do... because, it's not to be taken personally by me.
If it starts becoming harassment, then you have to take it to the next step, but if not, they usually cool down and you can call it a day when your work day is over.

Depends on the level of rudeness. Sometimes you can say, "let's try to work on a solution to this issue together instead of being angry". Or, Oh my goodness, did you get up on the wrong side of the rock today? Or, we don't need your business Dick-weed, don't let the door hit you in the Asss on the way out. Or, pepper spray the jerk and call the cops.

This would depend on what they say to me...example...if they insult myself...or my family...then it might be very difficult. You need to be more specific in your question.
