I want to start trading stocks and bonds at the beginner level. Does anyone know of a good brokerage site that i can start with that is easy to use and has a good reputation??

In the year 2006, I had one job, but my wife had 3 different jobs, one of them didn't take any federal tax out on that one job. The amount she made was 1,521 and worked there about a month and a half. We have 2 very young kids, made about 12,000, and paid in about 400 in federal. My question is will that one job hurt our refund, or does it not matter at all. What do you suggest we do. Thank you!

I have been working for 8 3/4 years at a company that insists I work at least 65 hours a week, while putting my wife through college. Now I only want to work 40-50 hours, and the boss says no, so I walked out today. I am looking for a job tomorrow, but what would you do?

I have been trying to sell a family home that I inherited since last Spring/Summer. I've had few offers and dropped the price three times. Now my realtor's partner is offering to buy the house for 50,000 less than the asking price. My gut says she is taking advantage of the situation because she knows it is costing me money and emotional distress to keep the house. I plan to counter-offer, but is this even ethical?

I am preparing for entering in a community college and i would like to take all kinds of interesting classes but I also want the qualifications that will give me a cool nice paid job in a year or 2.
I like history, geography, phisics, astronomy, antropology, biology, chemistry, politics, music, dance, gymnastic (Nadia Comaneci), tennis...the bad news is that I don't like very much mathematic or at list because I had wired professors I never got the chance to really get attracted to this subject.
Even though I like geometry.

Do you think there is money to be made here? Examples would be to make movies of pics {weddings, b-days, etc.} or simple transfering of slides/vhs to dvd, complete with menus and songs and such. i did a "memorial" dvd at my fathers funeral with his pics of his life....everyone loved it and i was wondering what you people think....is this a good way to earn some extra cash? big enough demand/market? serious replys will be greatly appreciated! thanks all.

I was discharged from a Chapter 7 in January 2006.
Before i filled, i had a car loan that I was in collections for. The car was in an accident (friend was driving) and was taken to a body shop to be repaired. Long story short, the repairs never happened and I received a notice that the car had been "reposessed". I soon after received a summons notice in regards to the unpaid debt. I filled the chapter 7 and was told by my attorney that it would be taken care of.
The lender was listed in my schedule D as a secured claim and under section 5 as "Repossessions, foreclosures and returns (because i no longer had the car to "surrender").
i just pulled my credit report and found 2 sections labeled "judgement" on my credit report.
My attorney is no where to be found. (phone number is disconnected and 411 doesn't have any new numbers for him).
My question is, can this judgement be removed from my credit report or am i going to be stuck with paying the $9000+ ??

We own our own home. We have a mortage but the interrest in it is under $3000 per year.

We have no children.

While we give to a charity it's probably less than $300 per year.

Are there any deductions we can use?
