My partners company just opened a factory in Mexico. They are closing thier PA factory and laying off 180 workers.. I see this all over. Now this is happening with white collar jobs. I know that our economy is global but what are your front line observations about the true state of the american workforce and prospects for the future.

I may be interested in working as an Insurance broker for my friend's company. Where do I go to take the course/get the license? Is there an accelerated program?

I have a Bachelors Degree in Business.

for example, if i wanted to buy a house for $600,000, can i get two mortgages for $300k each or do I have to get one mortgage for the $600k? the reason i am asking is that you get better interest rates on smaller loans.

I'm a fifteen year old Texan who is in desperate need of a job. A /real/ job. Baby sitting, mowing lawns, ect. are not options for me.

Due to my family's financial situation [and the fact that I'd like to some day go to college] I need to become employed ASAP. I consider myself to be intelligent and competent, but most places require you be at least sixteen to work at their company.

So!
Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any employers of fifteen year olds? Internet-related things are also fine, so long as they are not a scam or advert type of thing.

Also, NO FAST FOOD!
I am a strong vegetarian and refuse to work at McDonalds or Wendy's!

Thanks!

I am with a model school/agency called John Casablancas. I have a three year contract with them and I dont know if the contract is only about the school or about getting jobs with them. Because I know when I joined the person told me after 3 years my contract would end and i could no longer take classes there. I really want to join another agency and I'm wondering if I can do this now or if I have to wait until my contract expires...has anybody experienced this or just know what i'm talking about and what i can do?

but I dont know how to go about asking. I pay my rent to a property managent who then pays my landlord from there...I have never met my landlord (or know his/her name). I have been living in the building now for 4 months. When I moved in they were just starting renovations to the outside of the building and said the renos would be completed within 5 months. End of February will be long past 5 months and the work crew just said today that they will be at LEAST another TEN months before the building is completed! Yesterday they nailed the door to my deck closed because they are redoing all the decks (I was not aware they were doing this before I moved in) leaving me with ONE exit in the case of a fire. I am in a three bedroom apartment with my daughter and expecting a new baby in 8 days....I pay 750 per month for this dwelling. Would I be unreasonable in asking for a 100 dollar reduction on this rent just until the renos are COMPLETE?

You know where you call and they stick all your debt all together and then lower your interest rate so you can pay it off faster. Does that stay on your credit report, like filing bankruptcy?

We are in the process of paying all of our credit cards off. Four of them will be paid off this week. The interest rates aren't the best so I was wondering... Should I keep the accounts open with zero balance or call and close the accounts? What is better for my credit score?
Thanks!

I have a 5 year old Point Of Sale system. Looking to upgrade to new POS that can do inventory and touch screen POS. Also, if there are any that can link up to a website to provide real time inventory that would be cool as well. Let me know your thoughts on the best products out there, thanks!

I'm looking for marketing suggestions to attract customers to my golf league management website (I won't list the site so I'm not accused of spamming). I have an Adwords account, I've gotten great rankings with keywords like "Golf League Management" (usually #1 or 2) on Yahoo and Live.com, and within the top 10 on Google. I've also posted to golf blogs and directories.

Golf leagues are so seasonal that I basically have a 2-3 month window each year to get new customers. They trickle in by finding it through the search engines, but obviously I'd like to maximize this as much as possible.

I've been considering dropping by some golf courses and trying to give a quick unsolicited pitch to whoever's behind the counter in the golf pro shop, but I'm not sure how this will go over.

Any other suggestions out there? I've gotten great feedback from the leagues that are using it, but how do I convince others that it offers much more than they can do with an individual software program?
