I graduated from law school and passed the bar but I don't want to be a lawyer. I have over $70,000 in loans to pay back and I don't want to be poor for the rest of my life. Is it a good idea to start all over and find something I like better? Is it worth the risk because I don't think I will be happy working in some dead end job no matter how much I hate practicing law (at least you make more money doing that)

Everytime I shop at Abercrombie & Fitch, I always get asked by other people who shop there, if I work there. Last week when I was there, I got asked five times from people who were shopping there for assistance. Would this make me a future potential employee at A & F???

I also mailed and emailed my resume to A & F Headquarters this week, do they usually respond to your mail-ins/emails? How are there personal and group interviews conducted & what are the typical questions they mostly ask you? Are the interviews mostly conducted personally or in a group? And when a male applies for a job at A & F, during the interview process, does the hiring manager take into consideration to see if the male is very muscular, trimmed, good looking, etc....???

I am webmaster who is working on some up-and-coming websites, but I'm not quite where I want to be finacially yet. So, to supplement my income, I work 5 nights a week in a restaurant as a cook.

My problem is this: I have been at my current job for almost 2 years now and I cannot catch any breaks with the owners or management. EVERY TIME I WALK THROUGH THE DOOR, they are talking about some new policy about this or that. They constantly tell us cooks what we did wrong the night before, etc. I have gotten one .50 raise in the last 2 years. It's absolutely ridiculous. I am sick and tired of it.

The owners treat us like crap. The managers are complete idiots. I was talking with another co-worker this evening and the manager actually walked by and told us to shut up and get to work. I'm 26.

I'm tired of being treated like a child and working for cheap owners. And, above all, I AM SICK OF THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY.

I seriously can't take restaurant work anymore. What are some other options?

Everytime I shop at abercrombie, I always get asked if I work there even when I'm not wearing A & F clothes. Like the last week I was there I got asked five times with questions like:

Exscuse me, do you have the keys or can ask someone to open up another dressing room?

Excuse me, do you work here?

Excuse me, do you have this in a smaller/larger size?

Excuse me, can you help me out with something?

etc.................................

Would this make me a future potential employee at A &F?

I also mailed and emailed my resume to A & F this week. Do they usually respond to mail-ins/emails, or do I have to go to the store in person to apply? How are the interviews conducted, is it mostly personal or group interviews? What are the questions that they usually ask? And when a male applies for a position there, during the interview, do they take into consideration to see if he's very muscular, trimmed, and good looking, etc....???

Okay. Heres my situation. I'm currently 21, a student, and plan on filing taxes for the first time. I live away from home in an apartment. I worked alot last summer and did work study during the fall. My aunt told me I should file to get some money back and I should tell my mom not to claim me because I've supported myself for over two years.

Heres my question: My main concern is getting the most financial aid I can get. I have 1 more year left and 3 of my scholarships are done after this year. I really need all the grant money I can get. Whats the best strategy for this? Should I file as an independent or let my mom claim me? Should I even bother filing? I made a decent amount over the summer but work study pays min. wage.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I have a Sep IRA from my old job that I do not and have never paid into that would cover my student loan and most of the rest of my debt. I'm in a debt management program, which gives me a decent interest rate on the debt I incurred when I was not able to work. But I am left with little/no disposable income & a stinky credit rating. I'm scheduled to be done in 4 more years, but I'd like to have some disposable income & be able to build a little emergency savings while fixing my credit ASAP in prep for buying our 1st home. Just waiting for hubby to finish his Master's and secure a new job in the Fall.

I have a 401k at my new job and I try to make a little money on the side, but don't have a lot of time for that with a 3 month & 3 yr old. So, I'm working extra hard at the 9-5 to target a raise in the Spring. I just want some peace of mind, to be able to afford a haircut once a quarter and to see the possibility of home-ownership sometime...

Can anyone suggest a good plan?
