They can be mailed from your employer anytime after Jan 1, so whenever your employer gets around to it. The deadline I believe is Jan 31 for them to be mailed.

The IRS started accepting e-filed returns yesterday. You will need the information from your W-2 which may NOT match your last pay statement. By law your W-2 must be mailed on or before Jan 31. Some employers allow you to view your W-2 on-line. Mine does but has not yet posted the 2006 W-2.

Some companies have them out already. They're required to have them out by the end of January.
