a family loan was given ( they are not credit brokers)they were asked to pay off 2 accounts including interest and any settlement due on early payment . the lender had decided to keep the cash and settlement but not pay the account off so the borrower said no they will not pay this settlement if the account is not being paid so they just paid the balance are they in the right to do so?

My partner and I are purchasing a new home and we are receiving several mortgage offers. His score is 755, mine is 780, we have no car loans, no cc debt, I have 20K in grad school debt only. We make about 55-60K and currently pay $1400 in rent a month. We are trying to figure out if a 80/20 is right for us to avoid PMI. Do you pay two closing costs?
My partner is self-employed, so we need to go stated?
We can "borrow" 15% from my parents (but have to pay back with interest). We are trying to figure out if we can afford 250K and the best rate we've gotten is 6%. Taxes in the FL area we are moving to are going to be 4K-5K and we are having a hard time figuring out how much home owners insurance is going to be, as no one wants to give quotes in FL. At what point do you need to get homeowners insurance?
If the sellers have already paid the yearly taxes, do we pay them next year?
We are working with two different brokers and just trying to find the right mortgage. Any thoughts?

Financial Planners: I make about 80K a year and have good credit (mid 700's). I live within my means and dont have any extravagant outlays ( I budget and stick to it). Thanks to a layoff which took me 1.5 years to get a new job (at a 50% pay cut), I now have 35K in credit card debt. I avail myself of many -0- interest offers and transfer alot to reduce my interest paid but I still have some interest-bearing accounts. I have about 10K in 401K. All the financial GURU's say don't rob your 401K to pay off credit cards. But, I don't understand their logic $-wise. Now, I totally get that most Americans don't have the discipline to save for retirement and discouraging it for THAT reason is wise. But, I AM very disciplined and once this debt is paid off would rebuild my 401K. Factoring in my commitment to rebuild the 401K, why should'nt I reduce my debt now by using that money and re-build later?

I put in a buy order for 16,000 shares for a security that is listed on Nasdaq. The order did not show up on Level II even though my bid was in the top 10 bid orders. I think the market makers are hiding my order so not to drive up the price. Does anyone know the answer? I thought the top bids with volume was suppose to show up on Level II.

Thanks.

ok so here's the deal.... My dad is looking for a place that can send flyers to people houses... like through postal mail.... You know like those annoying advertising propagandas.... Is there any place where he can have others simply mail it to people? If so, any idea on the cost? I'd really appreciate it if someone can answer this. Thanks!

I know that a credit report is typically part of a much larger document referred to as a "Consumer File", but what would one typically find in a "Consumer File"? I've never looked at mine, but potential employers always seem to want me to allow them to look at it.

Now it breaks record over 500 p/s. Thanks to the people from internet marketing who contributes to its income. The best way of advertising. Sometimes madness of people is not logical to explain. It will still continue to rise I guess.

We have always filed jointly in our taxes but my wife did not work in 2006 to take care of our 1 year old baby. What option(s) would allow us to get the best returns? Should we continue to file "married filing jointly" or should I file "married but filing separately" and claim both my wife and baby as dependents? We have a mortgage and student loans. Should my wife even file even though she made zero dollars in 2006? My income in 2006 was $70k. Any advice in maximizing our returns for this year would be greatly appreciated.

We had a house fire and I'm looking for answers.

After all, my mortgage is secured from default by PMI. My Mortgage company did not take out the policy on my house, I did. My mortgage company does not own my policy, I do. So if anyone can explain why the Ins company has the right to include the MC on my claim check I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

I heard that if you get sites to link to you then you will get good search engine rankings. But if I have hundreds of links on many different websites (that I posted) such as Ebay, forums and message boards, will that also increase my ranking because I have many links?

My boyfriend and I were togather for almost 3 years. He and his daughter moved out this October. However since the address where they lived was mine for the last year...can I legally claim her on my taxes without getting in trouble? I know that he is the father..he should claim her...but I took care of her. He was out running around and doing his man thing or working nights. Her mother has her the paperwork that I need to file as well as court ordered paperwork showing that the daughter lived there at my address because my ex-boyfriend got custody of his daughter this past year and the address that shows is mine.??????

I've been wanting to get some for my kids, but i've been researching it and it seems as though health insurance is really just in case something huge happens like u need 20,000 surgery or a hospital stay. I'm not saying we will never need it, but I really just want insurance that allows me to take my kids to the doctor and get them medcine for a $10 or $20 copay. It's really dumb for me to get insurance with a 2,000 deductible- insurance would never pay for the low-cost stuff. Would I just be better off putting money in a savings account? I have looked into HSA's, and i think i would be better of just putting some money away. What do you think?

If they call to set up a job interview with you, isn't okay to set it up for the same day? Like, "I can come in later today." Or do you schedule it for the next day?

Also, if they call you on Friday, do you schedule it for the same day or wait until Monday? Thanks.
