I know that a credit report is typically part of a much larger document referred to as a "Consumer File", but what would one typically find in a "Consumer File"? I've never looked at mine, but potential employers always seem to want me to allow them to look at it.

Consumer files is the sames as credit file. Depending on which bureau we pull and how deep we want to look. All the standard stuff is there, credit, address history and employment history. All the important stuff.
