I am trying to improve credit score to buy house.
I have one credit card with 300 dollar limit I owe 280 on it.
My current beacon score is 620.

If I pay this card down to say 50 dollars will it raise my beacon score?
If so if I paid it right now online when would it be reflected in my beacon score?

Thanks

Bought a brand new bike for my husband as a wedding gift. Seemed like a good idea at the time - but now i'm paying off a loan with a huge APR. My bank won't let me refinance it yet. What else can I do?

For Federal taxes you can get deductions if you have children, go to school...etc. But what are some deductions you can claim for state taxes?

For me the biggest example that something is very fundamentally wrong with the housing market is the history of the PC market.

In 1980 IBM released its first home PC retailing for $1565 and included only a keyboard. You can now buy a PC with monitor and sometime printer for as low as $400-$500 sometimes with deals as low as $300.

Yes the cost of houses throughout our country's history has usually been 3x the median income but with greater efficiency in manufacturing building materials and putting the materials together this number should have gotten smaller.

BUT now the median home price is roughly 5x the median income! So high that most people can't afford a home anymore.

It doesn't add up.

Its not supply and demand, look at Google Maps and view your state and look at all the undeveloped land our government could open for developers.

My DH and I had an estimate done this week with HR Block , and we would like to know if any one knows about how accurate those estimates usually are, either those or the ones that you can do your self online. I'd appreciate any feed back, thanks!

I'm 19 and am trying to buy a fairly inexpensive car ($4k or less), but I can not get a loan anywhere. The problem is not that I have bad credit, but that I don't have enough credit. I have a credit card with no late payments whatsoever and that account has been open for 16 months. How long before I begin to get somewhere? If I don't have enough credit for even a $1500 loan to fix our old car's transmission then I'm gonna be 80 before I even get a new car. It's not just a car for right...later on it might be my own home. Ugh!

I'm having a career crisis. I have add - the kind that makes organizing and getting strarted extremely difficult and also involves careless/sloppy mistakes. I've been a project manager for 15 year, PMI certified - but I don't enjoy it much - esp the planning and detail tracking. I'm intelligent, I like technology - not exactly a nerd - but not far from it. I love helping people and working with children - I'm good at detecting patterns and solving problems. In addition to the ADD related issues I'm a conflict avoided. I did the 'discover your strengths' thing - but it doesn't offer much in the way of practical advice on how to leverage my talents.

and now can not pay January's rent. Besides the late fee what more can I do? Or more so, how flexible should I be with him.

Also, as far as late payments are considered (besides what is on the lease) is the standard? per late week, $ per day.

I appreciate it.
