I want to remove old credit card accounts that are in good standing, but these are old cards with higher interest rates and lower lines of credit compared to my more recent cards.

First of all, you really don't want to remove these. Positive accounts will remain for 10 years. If you succeed in removing these, your score will drop, even given your circumstances.

In addition, if these are valid records, they will not be removed.

I agree with stopccdebt. You don't want to remove these accounts. If they are still open accounts, you may or may not wish to close them. The interest rate does not appear on your credit report anyway. I just checked recent copies on all 3 of my reports to confirm that. Closing/removing the accounts may actually reduce your score.
