I made $18k last year and paid $4k in taxes and my parents are probably going to file their taxes with me as being one of their dependents. Can I still file taxes and will that leave me with less of a refund if they also file as me as their dependant?

There was alot fo debt from a previous marriage that I incurred. I dont work becuase I have 2 small children at home. For me to wrok and put them in daycare would put me further in the red. My new husband works (obviously). I have no choice but to file and am worried that he will be pulled into it. We have been trying for 3 yrs now to pay this debt off and to no success. Any suggestions?

Hi, Im 19 years old and its very important that I start establishing a credit history. My parents are no help since my "step dad" isnt willing to help because Im not his real kid and my mom wants me to be independent. So far I have my own car and pay for all my bills (cell phone, internet, etc.) But its really important that I start to build up my own credit history partly because I want to move out soon.

Im not being approved for a credit card since most of there reasons are LIMITED CREDIT HISTORY, please help.

any suggestions would be great.

The company I work for will hire one new person every 2 months or so and let them go before they have enough hours to make them eligible for unemployment? I live in Oregon, does anyone know if there is anything legally I can do to get them to stop doing this?

I work from home as a medical transcriptionist. I bought my laptop to finish my online schooling, and for work. I got it in June 2006, and started working in November. I have the reciept. The total cost, with tax, the carrying case and product protection plan, was around $1700. What I am able to claim?

The 2 girls in my office ignore me and the one who is teaching me how things are done there is so disrespectful. I always smile and try to make small talk and they just roll their eyes. No one talks to me,but they laugh among themselves. And that's cool but I don't know if I should be my friendly outgoing self or act snobby like they do.It's been 1 week. how do I handle this situation?

Not EBAY, not stay at home work, not selling something over the internet, phone in person. Not requiring me to manage full time. Not a franchise chain of any kind. something creative that earns good profits.

In America we preach the principles of freedom of choice, free enterprise, the power of the individual, and democracy. Yet, when it comes to chosing an electric or gas utility, most Americans only have one choice, dealing with a "monopoly" utility provider. Is this acceptable in today's world? Most energy providers do not allow the customer to pick whether they want "dirty" energy, "clean" energy, or any other options. We have to accept what they want to provide to us. Is this fair business practice for the 21st century?

I'm 15 and I have no money. I need to
1) buy an iPhone
2) buy a car
3) save for college
4) have spending money
5) pay for retreats, class ring, exam fees, and tickets for dances games etc.

I need a job to get money. To get to a job I'll need a car, for which I need money, which I don't have. My parents won't drive me to a job, won't give me money, and even pitch in on helping me buy a car. I have a little money in the bank but nowhere near enough to go on.
Is there anyplace I can get a job? Creative ideas? Something I'm not seeing? Anything would help!!
