I made an overall $18K last year and paid $4,500 in income taxes. I do not have any expenses except my car bill which is not tax deductible. How much should I expect my refund check to be. Thanks

We would have to know if you are married or single and number of exemptions.

For single and 1
sub standard deduction of $5150.
Tax on $12850 is $1554

You should get about $3000 back if what you are saying is your whole story. 18K in income, about 8k is sheltered through your personal exemption and standard deduction leaving 10K as taxable income. 10K *.15=1500. 4500-1500=3000

not enough information. DO you have any dependents? Are you filing single or head of household? How much federal was paid in and how much state was paid in? Give me more info and I can help you.
