Our apartments recently got bought and got converted to condos. We were allowed to stay in them an extra year because they were not selling. Now we may have the opportunity to stay in them another year. We also have the option of moving into a townhouse for $200 more a month. All in all I think it would be an additional $300 more amonth with utilities. Both places are really nice...the townhouse is just double the size. What do you think?

Mateen, an inventor, obtained a patent on a chemical process to clean old aluminum siding so that it can be easily repainted. Mateen has no tax basis in the patent. Mateen does not have the capital to begin manufacturing and selling this product, so he has done nothing with the patent since obtaining it two years ago. Now a group of individuals have approached him and offered two alternatives. Under one alternative, they will pay Mateen $600,000 (payable evenly over the next 15 years) for the exclusive right to manufacture and sell the product. Under the other, they will form a business and contribute capital to it to begin manufacturing and selling the product; Mateen will receive 20% of the company’s shares of stock in exchange for all of his patent rights. Discuss which alternative is better for Mateen.

I'm trying to do my taxes from my last pay check stub and the employer Id number is not on my check stub. is there some place I can find it? I see an 8 digit number but I don't know if it's the id number because the first 4 numbers are zeros. Help please.

I am in Ohio.
State min wage went from $5.15 to $6.85.
I am a tipped employee in a small restaurant. My employer annouced yesterday that they did not have to go by the state wage of $6.85 because they didn't gross enough in a year so they go by the federal wage of $5.15. I don't know what the gross amount was.
I have been trying to call the local wage and hour and getting no where fast. I have been reading the internet site and getting more confused. The Ohio website is apparently down today.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. From where I stand at the moment the wage increase did not help the common worker.

I'm on my way to claiming bankruptcy and I just wanted to know for those that have, is it really as bad as everyone says it is? I don't plan on purchasing anything major (ie- house, car, etc) anytime soon, I just want a fresh start. What are the normal fees for this process? I don't own any valuable assets, or owe anything besides credit card debt.

My boss is making my life miserable. I asked for a day off a couple of weeks ago, was told that it was all set and then didn't have it off. The same thing happened this week and I'm scheduled on Saturday when I needed it off. I'm going to talk to the manager today. If I can't get the day off, should I quit? This is only a very small example of how bad it is. How should I handle this? I do have another job, this was only for extra money.

I'm about to sign a contract for a coop with the seller. Here are my two questions:

1. Do I have to pay all the downpayments when signing the contract? Or can I pay a portion of it when I sign the contract and the rest of it at the closing? What do people normally do?

2. Can I still negotiate the price after I sign the contract?

Ok, I was "recruited" and it seemed legit but, the more i thought about it the more it seemed like a pyramid. I was the youngest at the meeting which, included lawyers, doctors, and real estate agent. I felt that they wouldn't fall for something illegal.
