Some places you can pay a few months rent (not living there) and cancel your lease. -That is if he is not living there any longer niether. After the year is up and he is still there and renews it I dont see why you cant go and have your name removed. But it will follow your credit if you both just leave and not pay rent.

Maybe it wasn't a good idea to move in with him? You're pretty much stuck with the rent until the lease is up, even if you move out. Try seeing if you can sublet to someone else (of course, your boyfriend will have to be ok with this). Stick it out til October, unless you want to be paying to live two places. Try talking to your boyfriend...maybe it's something you can work out. You seem young...maybe living with a significant other wasn't such a good choice, especially if you haven't been together very long. For some people it works out, but for a lot of people it doesn't, and those people get hurt and screwed pretty bad. Next time, think long and hard before you get a place with someone...it's a bigger committment than you think.

You are liable for all rent until the end of the contract.
Talk to the landlord. See if he/she will let you out. If they do, please get the agreement in writing. Have it witnessed and notarized, if possible.
If you just move out and stop paying, the landlord will sue you for the unpaid rent. As you have no defense, the court will likely decide in his favor. When he tries to collect the judgment and you do not pay, he can/will report it to the credit bureau, and may go back to court to garnish your wages or attach your bank account(s).
If you cannot afford the apartment on your own, why not throw the bf out and find a room mate? That would solve both of your problems.

you made a deal, by signing a contract to live there for a year. and so if you wanted to move you would still have to pay the guy or girl whose the owner of her apartment even though you decided not to live there anymore
and it also affects your credit if you don't pay it so your stuck up
you should have known your b/f for longer on before moving with him, and well if he wants to stay in the apartment just tell him if he watnst to keep paing the monthly bill

It depends on the landlord. I would be open about the situation, and ask to be let off the lease. As long as the b/f stays on the lease, there shouldn't be a problem. Just communicate professionally and you should be ok.

You said contact I think you meant CONTRACT ok?
You are liable if they come back for payments, you signed a contract and you broke it. You should have considered properly what you are doing.before you signed. I guess you never watched Judge Judy eh?

You should just talk to your landlord and tell him/her the situation. They might let you go (with like a month's notice).
Why doesn't your bf just move out?
