I need to destroy a signature stamp left by someone who used to be able to sign checks with their stamp. Any suggestions?

Yes pull off the rubber part and put it in your paper shredder. Make sure that you can put metal and hard plastic, otherwise it will get jammed.
Second choice take the rubber stamp to the bank and ask them to put it in their shredder.

Try melting the rubber down

Take it to you bank branch and have them destroy it.

melt it, or tear out the rubber and cut it into pieces...
