It's in pretty good condition, tiny little tears on top, and it has creases from where it was folded at one time, but other than that it is in tact.

Or is it credit to debt ratio? Either way, I am a college student with 1k of bad marks on my credit report from years ago. I want to get a secured credit card for the amount that would look good to lenders like "this person pays on time and has a valuable credit history w/some lenders" (ie my dell account is on there which is good and the secured card would add to it).

Am I making sense? How can I do this? I'd rather not pay off the measley 1k, it should be removed within a few years anyway.

If yes, how much is the duty?
I live in Canada and I realized many times one item in both .com and .ca web pages, however the price of Canadian web site is much more (after changing US$ to CDN$). I thought maybe it is better to use .com webpages for online shopping. But maybe there is an extra fee for duties for shipping from US to Canada. Is there?

I closed my checking acct with a zero bal. at the end of the month & this month receive a bank statement showing (- $37.50) in my account. I was surprised because I had to go to a special employee who closes accts. Today I find out after but after speaking with the 3rd tier supervisor, my account was never closed due to a coding error & there was a $10.00 automatic payment made on my behalf (in which the bank said I should be grateful to them for making it) However since it was their mistake they will happily refund all the charges except for the $10.00. I told them without any money in my acct and the acct closed they shouldn't have paid the creditor and it was their mistake & that they should reverse all the charges. She told me that I should have called my creditor & tell them to stop billing them. If I do not pay the $10 in 160 days they will send me to their collections dept. My credit is great! can they mess up my credit with this. It is not the money it is principal

I live in Scotland and in a flat owned by myself but within a block which the council still owns and factors(maintains). I pay the council a monthly charge to maintain and arrange repairs to my building. I phoned up a week ago after we had high winds which caused the roughcast to crack under my bedroom window. Subsequently there is water which is pouring through the wall and causing nasty black mould all over my wall in a room which i have just spend over £1k decorating. When i called the council 2 weeks ago i was told id recieve a call to arrange a visit from an inspector. A week later no call so i phoned to be told call wasnt logged. So left name and number to be told it would be 4 - 6 weeks before an inspector could attend. My decor is being ruined and my health is suffering. Anyone have any advice? Where do i stand with paying my factoring fees? Any independant bodies i can speak to? Can i claim on my buildings insurance? I AM BANGING MY HEAD OFF A BRICK WALL SPEAKING TO COUNCIL!!!

I am about to leave my job. One of the reason, but not the only one, is that I just can't work with a colleague (we were put in the same team). I did mentioned his behavior to my employer a couple of months ago, but nothing was done. Now that people know I am leaving, some confided in me and it turns out no one can work with him, and at least one other person is thinking of quitting because of him. I did not say he was part of the reason I am leaving. Should I? Part of the reason I did not tell is that he is soon to be a father.

Please dont say, "No because someone could hack into your account online and take all your money away" because that would be true of ANY online banking -- or if someone stole your checkbook, etc.. I want to know how safe/unsafe as compared to traditional banking and other online banking.

I own a fully paid for one bedroom flat in which i live with my partner and baby son. I want to buy a house but if i sell my flat first, we will have nowhere to live and if i buy a house first then i won't be able to put a deposit (from the sale of my flat) down and will probably have to pay double of everything (electric/water/tv licence etc). it's going to be very difficult to do both at the same time but other people must have been in the same situation. Can anyone advise me on the best course of action?

I am currently an assistant Mgr. at a large bank. I was offered a managers position at a much smaller bank. The bank I am currently at has 172 branches and is publicly owned the bank that offered me a position has 7 branches getting 3 ready to open next month and is privately owned. I am not sure what to do. I have been in my current job for 8 years and feel I am ready for a change of pace but I am very very nervous.. Has anyone had to make a decision like this and what was the outcome.?

Hey all,

I just moved to the states from overseas and obviously have not established credit in the US. I just got a job that pays ok, but I need an apartment before I can get my first pay stub. Most of the apartments I have seen need a credit check. Is having no established credit yet worse than having bad credit? Any suggestions? Any ideas where I can find a small apartment with no credit check in the NY metro area, at least for the first 6 months/1 year?

Thanks, happy holidays
