I love to write, so I figured on a writing career, but I'm not sure about that anymore. I LOVE writing songs but how would I become a songwriter? And I love helping people, could I be a psychologist? how would i go about doing so? I like helping people, it's very rewarding. how would i do so?

Writing songs would be a fun job... I'm sure if you send some of your lyrics to a producer, you would get a response! To become a psychologist (sp?) you would have to get a degree in Psychology, I guess!! To help people, you could be a therapist or a doctor. You would have to get a PHd to be a doctor.

This is a long shot but if you like writing, like the art of songwriting and like helping people...Have you ever thought about writing for theater? There are some forms of theater that can be used theraputically. As a matter of fact I'm an actor who is part owner of a theatrical production company and I've found it to be quite helpful even on a personal mental health level. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
The only problem with a carreer in the arts like playwriting or songwriting is work can be hard to come by. As an actor what I did is found somthing I could do from home and write my own schedule. This left pleanty of opportunity to keep up with play practices, writing and rehearsing scripts etc.

Well, first and formost, you like to help people. Try journalism. If you can get into that, you can get your words (and stories of places that need some kind of help) out into the public eye and may be people will see not only your story (or your side of the story) put people may take action! I like to write as well. I was working on a novelette when I was in my early 20's, but I stopped it. If you love to write, DON'T STOP! I write poems too. If you like to write songs, find someone that is a musician. Do you have a friend that plays piano or may be someone that plays guitar? Do you think you could be a lead singer of a band-write your own songs?

you could be a reporter, this encompasses your love of writing and your love of helping people, write the truth and get things changed. you can still write and sell your songs and if it works out better for you, then go in that direction

You can do psychologist as fulltime work and songwriter as parttime.That's what i suggest.Anyway,whatever you may choose out of it,i really wish you best of luck.
