I am starting a new job on Monday. I have considered buying a condo for 279900 and even am trying to get preapproved. It would be nice to invest right now and earn equity. But I have no down, my payments will be high and I will have barely enough to make ends meet bills wise, and unsure of the stability of the job I will be starting but hope to be there for a long time considering the pay and benefits are excellent. On the other hand I have though abou renting. It would give me more flexibility with payments, more time to save, and pay extra bills, but the downfall is I will not be building equity, and I know renting is wasting money. But I can afford that, and I calculated that I would lose 40k in 5 years but be able to save 100k in 5 years for a down. What do you think would be a better route for me? I don't want to struggle, but I know he housing market is for the buyer, but then again I am not fully prepared at this time even if in the back of my mind I want a place of my own?

I may return to the USA after 11 years but I had some payment to shop cards
(JC Penney) and one telephone charge that I did not pay. The amount I owed
cards JC penney + telephone is around $1700. I also had a bounced check. I left US in 1996.

I had other cards that I paid and closed all other accounts.

I checked couple of days back my credit report through Experian and I did not have any negative points. Instead, the records that I closed some of my
credit cards without being late is however mentioned as good standing. But
there was no mention of my closed bank account.

Would this mean that the previous money that I owed is dropped ?

My question is:

1. If I come back to the US, any problems in opening a bank
account ?

2. Obtaining credit cards - will there be any issue ?

3. Is Experian a reputed agency ?

5. If I lived in a particular state during my stay in US, would Experian
not capture the entire history ?

Please let me know.
Thanks
Suk

I work for a small startup supplier of home remodeling materials doing design and sales. I love what I'm doing at work, it's fun and rewarding and my customers LOVE me. I make substantially higher sales figures than anyone else there...which is reflected in pretty decent commission pay...but my boss is a big liar, she lies to me, to others in front of me, to everyone about both important and unimportant stuff. She's the owner of the company so there's no higher authority to appeal to. She's also shorting me on commissions, sometimes by substantial amounts, which I call her on when I see it. Again, I really love what I'm doing on a daily basis, but am really concerned about the bosses actions. What should I do?

Does anyone know since I fell asleep during the job interview, will I get hired? The interview was about 30 minutes and I dozed off, had a weird dream, and awoke to the guy still talking. After that, he said I would have a second interview next week?

I can't believe some of the limits some of my credit card companies put on my cards. I have this Amex that I've had for 12-14 years, it started with 4K- or 5K or something..it's up over 100K, the other one is 80K. I have a Chase card with 45K and a Citi (DP) card over 40K. It's not like I use them all the time...maybe 1K a Month then pay in full before the statement arrives..I pay on-line these days. What do they think I'm going to do BUY YACHT!!! I sat down the other day out of curiousity and added up my credit limits on all my cards..it came to $960.500...almost a million dollars!! This is crazy, then they wonder why stupid people get themselves in credit card debt...I'm very responsible with my credit but I could easily see how some would go out and buy everything in sight because they can...but them can't afford to pay it back. It just seems to me to be to much temptation for people 19-30 who love "things" and can't help themselves. I think some blame some be the CC companies
