Hello everyone. I have a small giftshop in a small town, first it was run by my mom but now i´m all by myself. It has been there for nearly 18 years now but a few months ago, one of the neighbors who had a paper´s shop on the next block started to sell the kind of stuff I sell. I think that´s not fair, but the only thing I think I can do is to improve my own shop so the customers prefer to buy there.

I really, really need some cool ideas, like new stuff I can sell or new services I can offer, also cool original ideas for gift wrapping or decorating the place would be good.

Thank you everyone.

We're both 19, eagle scouts, and have perfect credit (never missed a payment on anything). We're looking to open a small café. I've been working as a barista at Starbucks for some time now and have been paying close attention to how the whole store works. I've learned just about everything about running the place. My associate works in sales at sears, and knows more about business and sales than anyone I know.

How likely is it that we'll be able to get a loan to open said café? Will our age turn them off immediately? Will the fact that we are both eagle scouts help anything?

We're both very determined to open this café.

Im a full time college student looking for a job. I have long blonde hair that goes halfway down my back, and thats all around. Now when I go out looking to pick up applications or see if places are hiring, Im always dressed nicely and I have my hair pulled back. Ive had it in on hair tie, and Ive had it in multiple hair ties. And when I go for an interview I look even more presentable.

So Im wondering if my hair, regardless of qualifications (say that I have them) is keeping me from getting a job?

Because if it is, I think that's a load of crap. (and thats nicely put)

Everyone is always looking for new ways to make money from working at home. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put this link in here so my apologies in advance if I'm breaking the rules.

This won't cost you anything but if all goes as planned, it could make you some extra cash without much effort. There is no selling but you do need a computer with audio and a mic. When you first go there, you need to install a small program to enter ther welcome conference and there you 'll get directions and instructions. I just joined yesterday so I'm still learning but it looks promising.

rate, highway robbery? In addition, how does one perform the calculation to learn what the total amount of the loan will cost? My math skills suggest that it is over $100,000 dollars. Did I screw-up somewhere?

Just learned I've been refused for training @ NAVCANADA after being tested using a standard recruitement test (numerical,3D,hearing and other standard tests) plus a personality profiling quesionnaire. How can they cut somebody out based solely on those tests without even meeting the candidate? I had the feeling I faired well,I do hold a PhD and an MBA and I am in Canada as a Permanent Resident since six months now, Tried the job searchs it turns out that any diploma from outside north america is not worth much in here, and the experience should be "preferably" canadian unless you can prove that your skills are transferable, which from the zero interviews I got so far, I guess I am doing a poor job proving.
Any ideas about a job I could just begin from zero learning, like the one I applied to: air flight controller, I realize my question is not that brilliant but I really would appreciate new ideas that I am having hard time to find.
Any help/suggestion is appreciated, thanks.
Mike
