I accidentally damaged my neighbor's yard. About six shrubs were damaged.

The homeoweners has insurance for his home, and the insurance company estimated that it would cost $700 to restore the yard (including $500 of labor cost). But his insurance plan is $1,000 deductible, so he won't get money from them. He wants me to pay the money.

The estimate exceeded my guess, so I called a couple of landscape companies, and their estimates were different. It would take less labor, so total costs would be about $350.

I asked the homeowner if I can choose a landscaper to do the work, but he was not happy about that. I believe that he plan to do the work himself to save money. Price of shrubs won't exceed $150.

Should I just give $700 to him? Or would I be better off if I go to court? Would I need a lawyer for this kind of matter?

Thank you for your attention.

p.s. I live in New York state.

I went to cash a money order for an old camera i sold on eBay. The bank took forever in giving me my $$$ and then gave me the weirdest look. It was like they suspected me of something. I know this sounds paranoid, but it was really weird. It was a legit postal money order. Has anyone ever experienced this? Bizarre.

I think that they should legalize drug dealing and all of the drugs cause it could help the economy out quite a bit and there would be fewer homeless people and there could be also more happier people out there in this world who are getting rewarded for their hard work that they couldn't get from their 9-5 jobs.

I think that everybody in all forms of life should be rewarded equally for their hard work and I think that drug dealing could really help everybody, plus there would also be fewer people in jail that way.

if the real property is appraised for substantially more than the purchase price? Will the lender still require a 10% or 20% downpayment? The scenario I'm looking at is buying a property in foreclosure at a discount.

We are not that familiar with the entire process of buying in England. We are ready to put in an offer, but we really don't know what we have to do step by step. We've looked at a lot of websites but can't seem to find the advice we need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thx.

There is an Occupational Tax deducted, once a year, out of your wages , for working. It use to be 10.00 dollars, now it is 52.00. They do not charge this in rural areas in the state of Pennsylvania. Only in Metropolitan area's in the state. Are there any other States that do this? Or a similarity of some sort, for working a job? I'm curious.
