Ok, heres my story. Like every human being, I made a mistake and messed around too much one semester and screwed up my GPA. After some calculations I noticed I will graduate with at best a cumulative GPA of 2.7, worst case scenario, a 2.6.

So just HOW IMPORTANT is GPA to MOST employers for your first job? In my resume and employment preperation class, our professor said most employers don't even look at you seriously unless you have a 3.0-3.5 GPA.

I am doing internship, I am working for my towns public school district for the next 8 months, will that much experience help with comparrison to my GPA?

So whats the truth? whats more important to employers, a high GPA, or experience? What if you have a high GPA plus experience, will I be out of the running?

Employers, your answers especially would be appreciated. People talking from their own experiences are appreciated as well! Thanks in advance!

I have a bank account at a fairly small credit union, and I am looking to deposit a check that I received into my bank account. I don't have access to the credit union's bank offices so I need to deposit it some other way. Should I send it to the bank via their PO Box, or can I deposit it at any ATM, or at any ATM where I don't get charged a fee (for withdrawals). Thanks in advance.

Do I just do my state tax for the times I was in each state and then one for federal (3 separate forms in all)? Or is it different b/c the majority of the time I was in GA? Do I get extra W-2's that show the amount earned in each state (husband is military so obviously its the same employer)? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm buying a small starter house with my sister.
My credit is in the mid 700s and my sister has only had one credit card in her name (paying off monthly).
We have about $15k in savings.
I work part time, she works full time but only $7-8 an hour.
I'm fairly certain the payment will be less than the $555 rent I am paying now by myself, plus we will be gaining equity.

How was your experience purchasing a home?
I have a credit union, will rates be cheaper there?
What and how much fees will be involved? Inspector? I will not have a buying broker, but they are selling thru a realtor. Do I need a lawyer?

Please let me know the good and bad things you have encountered while buying your home. Thanks!

I am looking to buy a 3BR house, and will be a first-time home buyer. I've not yet found a reliable realtor, and would love to get some good advice on getting started with this confusing process. Can anyone give me a basic outline of the steps I should take in going about the whole home-buying process? Thank you in advance!

I am a first time home buyer, and I don't know which is a smarter choice, buying a brand new home or buying one that has been lived in before? I am not sure if these new communities are rushed and could have problems shortly after buying? Does anyone have any experience with this comparison?

My wife and I are thinking of buying a house on contract. I have read a little bit about it but I was wondering what would be a fair down payment and a fair interest rate. I believe we will be ready to refinance within 1 to 2 years.

I have no credit, and would like to get a good credit score relatively quick to get a credit card as emergency money. I know most people my age spend money like crazy, but i do not as between school and work, theres only time for a movie, and i just enjoy time with friends. can anyone give a kid some advise?
